Is talking to yourself considered a psychosis? please give me your reason and explain?

Psychosis is a mental disorder and, from my education, a mental disorder is defined by three things:



- it is Deviant (small part of the population displays this)


- it is distressful (to either the individual or others)


- and it is dysfunctional (effects you ability to go about day to day life)


Talking to oneself very very rarely meets any of these criteria, and is very rarely paired with a genuine disconnect from reality (psychosis)

No paranoia is psychosis talking to yourself is just schizophrenia but both are just the same in a few ways but ones a symptom of one another
