I will be teaching Isshinryu Karate self defense on Youtube pretty soon. I have a neighbor who I've convinced to be my assistant. The way this is different than in the past is I, the teacher, will play the villain, and I'll walk my assistant through each of the counter-attacks he needs to do to beat ME.
In particular, If I can get a woman assistant too, I'll be teaching woman's self defense, beyond just groin kicks.
Would you watch something like this?

Hey, girl, My Sensei tested out of Krav Maga to max level and he TOLD ME SO IN PERSON, and the only reason he put "Krav Maga" on his second dojo's sign is because it was the FAD at the time.
I had already learned everything Krav Maga teaches by the time I was a 12 years old YELLOW Belt in Isshinryu.

For the uninformed, Isshinryu Karate is founded on two main styles but a total of six initial styles. It is founded on the principle of adopting the best of every style. So we teach the best of Kenpo, Goju-Ryu, Shorin-Ryu, Japanese and Brazillian Jiujitsu, Judo, etc. Our black belts are encouraged to cross-train in other styles for this reason.

Nope. Karate is purely defensive against other similar martial arts. It is NOT meant for legit modern defense. It will get you killed. If you must do a martial art, aikido, Sambo, pankration, systema or Krav Maga are better options
Reported as nonsense/irrelevant.
Except it isn't, and will end up ignored by admins. I wasn't engaging in conversation, I answered your post. End of story, no discussion needed or wanted. Bye
@GirlsAskGuys
Sorry, they already determined that I didn't break any rules on this thread. The owner re-posted it.
And admin told me to. tag them directly to the post so they can review it.
@BeeNee
What is wrong with you? I'm telling the honest to God truth about everything. Why should my posts get deleted while yours get obeyed?
You weren't even ALIVE when I started my martial arts training in Isshinryu Karate.
Constantly spamming the same shit, when I expressly told you I wasn't here to discuss anything. I answered you, end of story, but you kept on pushing. Enough.
Typical injuries the evil attacker suffers when unknowingly attacking an Isshinryu student include:
Broken Neck
Broken Nose w/ bone fragments in the brain, causing a brain hemorhage
broken fingers, wrist, radius, ulna from the Kenpo "Five Swords" combo or wrist lock with combined striking techniques.
Broken/Dislocated/hyperextended knee from cross-heel stomp kick or forward angle kick.
Broken toes or ankle from stomp kick
Broken orbital of the eye socket or otherwise gouged eyes.
Ruptured kidney or spleen from a vertical fist punch to the side of the torso
Broken sternum from a front heel thrust kick w/ possible heart attack following this crushing blow.
If you are wondering why self defense needs to be so brutal, we do train to use 'minimum necessary force" against a single attacker. However, in multiple attacker scenarios you need "Instantaneous Destructive Force" to defeat the first attacker instantly so you have a 1-on-1 against the second attacker.
White belts are required to master all the basic hand strikes, blocks, leg checks, and kicks of Isshinryu, Five Swords from Kenpo, and Sword of Destruction from Isshinryu AND master the Sensei's own custom Kata to get a yellow belt.
Yellow Belts are required to learn and correctly execute Sanchin Kata and Bunkai, which is tested by striking the student repeatedly with a padded baseball bat. Seventh Degree black belt test re-tests Sanchin Kata for "Mastery" using unpadded Okinawan bos all over the body, arms, and legs. Yellow Belts in Advincula heirarchy dojos must also learn a Kata called "H-Pattern" and master it.
Blue Belts learn Seisan. Typical Blue through Dark Green belt women are expected to be able to successfully defend against a single adult male attacker in a real life or death fight, or they don't get promoted again. We have had cases of a blue belt woman successfully defeating two adult male heavyweights in a gang-rape scenario and walking away unharmed.
The last 30 minutes of direct instruction of each traditional isshinryu class is Small and Large Circle Japanese Jiu Jitsu which comes from the Shorinryu side of Isshinryu. you learn at least 2 new submissions you have never seen before in each session. I learned at least 300 unique submissions in Issinryu, most of which start in the standing position, and I can still name at least 50 of them by name 23 years later.
The last 15 minutes or so of each traditional class is full contact sparring. We do not points spar because both men and women need to learn how to INJURE their attacker, not play "Patty-cake" with them. You are allowed to use anything except eye gouges and biting in sparring, including growin kicks and submissions. If the fight goes to the ground, the sensei lets it go another minute or two and then stops it if there is no clear winner.
Blue belt learns Seisan and bunkai.
An adult blue belt woman should be able to defend herself against an "unskilled" adult male attacker. There has been at least one known case of an Isshinryu Blue Belt woman successfully defending a gang rape and walking away unharmed.
Light Green Belt learns Seiunchin and Tokomini No Kun (Okinawan Bo Kata) and bunkai.
Dark Green learns Naihanchi and Bunkai and is expected to survive an outmatched fight against two trained attackers.
Purple learns another unarmed Kata, I think it's Wansu , and learns Kyan no Sai, which is named after one of Shimabuku's original 3 instructors, who invented it.
Brown 1 through 3 learns Kusanku, Hamahiga, and Sunsu katas for unarmed and learns the first tuifa kata.
1 and 2 black belt continue working on Bunkai and hundreds of additional pressure points and submissions, most of which are BANNED in World Unified Rules for MMA and Muay Thai.
Middle and Higher ranks of black belt work on theory-crafting new training and new techniques and refining the official bunkai of the style.
lassen Sie mich allein, einzeller. Knock it off.
This is my last post. Here is my cross-training history.
Around 4000 hours Isshinryu instruction from either Michael Storms, Andre Pierre, and mostly Mark Meyers.
Around 1000 hours advanced Cardio Kickboxing from Sherry Meyers.
60 hours instruction in Hindi Andi Gung Fu by a Double Sixth Degree black belt in Isshinryu.
60 hours Tai Chi Quan by a double sixth degree Isshinryu instructor.
Around 200 to 240 hours further Isshinryu, Combat Judo, and Escrima Instruction by Arcenio J. Advincula
Some additional training by Professor Raphael Gracie (3rd Degree Black Belt) et al at Gracie United family of Dojos in Brazillian style Jiu Jitsu.
You are not an Isshinryu Black Belt so you DON'T get to tell me what Isshinryu is or is not nor what it's purpose is.
You are illegally presenting yourself as having knowledge you do not have, and then hijacking my thread to tell me what I can and cannot say on my own thread.
If you aren't here to discuss anything then get the fuck off my thread. This is a DISCUSSION FORUM and I started the thread and should be allowed to post my expertise on my own fucking thread.
i actually trained under Mark again about 8 years later, after he had tested to max level in Krav Maga, and he wasn't even teaching anything new. He was still teaching the exact same combat system, because he literally learned NOTHING NEW from the krav maga instructors.
Post what you want on your thread. Just not to me and not yet more duplicates, trolling or member posts like you've been doing. And yes, you did those. Admin came along and reversed nothing except they removed your comment calling me a liar.
See, now that's not only a threat but another member post.
Okinawan karate grand masters say otherwise.
We've never had an Isshinryu Student get hurt in a street fight. They end up hurting their attackers.
I don't give a single shit whatd they claim
