There is a barbecue happening and before covid I would go every year but this year I am not sure I want to go.

Sure. I haven't given COVID a thought since 2020. I've barely seen a mask around for 2 years. I have DJed close to 20 parties with 100+ people - a few weeks ago I did a school carnival with well over 1000 people. And this is California, yet outside of Hollywood or perhaps downtown San Francisco, people went back to their normal lives 2 years ago.

Yes, COVID was a real thing that existed, but it MOSTLY killed people over 70 or people with certain pre-existing conditions - with a few rare, random exceptions (or just people whose pre-existing conditions weren't known). But as generally always happens, the disease mutated to become both much more easy to spread but also much less potent, and as a result, nearly everyone has developed a natural immunity to it. The POKE did virtually nothing - it's our natural immunity that has allowed life to resume as normal.

So, unless you have a major condition that is specifically a problem for COVID - which might make it more sensible to be cautious - then go live your life.

The government instilled a huge amount of unnecessary fear in people for no reason - well, there WAS a reason: to get even more control over people and to "try out" new powers to do so. But a lot of people have been screwed up by that fear, even though they are fine health-wise. The government response in many cases did more harm than the disease.

But it's a LONG way back in the rearview mirror. Go live. You won't get another chance.

Do you not have an immune system? Do you think lacking practice is going to make it better?

This is with a wider community with people from all walks of life, some of them are smokers or hang out with criminals or are in abusive relationships etc... If it was a crowd of people from church or university, I would not be concerned cause I know these people live healthy lifestyles and have excellent life habits. Like in the crowd I socialize with, over 99% of people have degrees from top schools, meaning, they are ranked 1-5 in Canada or ranked 1-25 in all American universities combined. 98% of my dad's friends were STEM professors in China but with this crowd, most don't even have college degrees. I would say less than 1% of the people in my circle have ever smoked or done weed. We are an elite crowd. But this is not the crowd I usually hang out with.

And that completely fails to answer my question. Do you think that possessing a college degree affects your immune system? That a pathogen will be poised to enter your body and then say "Wait, hold up- she's got a degree! Back off, everyone!"?

That kind of elitism is antithetical to good medical practice AND your own oft-stated Christianity, woman.
