Why isn't my dental insurance coming up if it's active?

I went to the dentist as a new patient, gave them my card, and it wasn't showing up in their computer. I call my dental insurance and they say I'm active.

Look, that's the dentist's problem. If they say they accept your insurance company then they just haven't updated their computer to show it or they are trying to get cash from you.

Tell them if they accept your insurance company, then they need to update their computer system to show your insurance company as one they accept.

Screw them! Everyone is trying to scam people these days any way they can. You are going to have to be firm about this.

It shouldn't have to come up on their computer for them to accept it. You own the insurance, not the dentist. Your card is your identification. If they're so worried about it they can call the insurance to confirm it. No one cares if you're taken care of anymore, all they want is the money.

i guess they saw the insurance on computer but would get more if they made you pay money.

They have to be in network for your insurance to be used there.
