Do dentists not pull teeth anymore?

I already got conned by one dentist that didn't pull teeth even though I told them it was busted off. They referred me to an oral surgeon. Same thing happened to the next dentist when I wanted a second opinion. I asked upfront before scheduling the appointment and they said they do extractions, but I did have to do an initial new patient exam. okay that's fine. They found a bunch of other stuff wrong and also referred my extraction, which probably means i'm back to square one with the oral surgeon and no telling what that will cost. Probably another $300 exam plus $300-$400 to pull the tooth out. Probably should have went to the surgeon from the get go. Isn't that bs though? I don't tell people what they want to hear just so I can take their money.

I'm not sure they were trying to mislead you. Perhaps they found some reason why it was more than a routine extraction. My brother went in for an extraction to a regular dentist and it turned out to be a big ordeal and he wished he would have gone to an oral surgeon. Also, the oral surgeon might not take you unless you had a referral by a regular dentist, anyway. But I understand your frustration.

Pulling of any tooth should be a last resort , only if the tooth is infected thus causing other issues , be extremely careful with teeth and save them wherever possible.

Most of them won't do it anymore I had one pulled ans had to sign paper work and have my blood pressure taken before
