As I have gotten older, I have gained weight. Nowadays, any sort of carb makes me look fat and bloated. I can't eat pasta unless I want to look pregnant over the next 2 days. Meanwhile, I see all these skinny folks eating anything they want from pasta, rice, breads, fried foods. YET, they're all still thin!!! I work around plenty of thin people who eat fried foods , mcdonalds for lunch who don't gain a pound. On the other hand, I rarely ever eat fried foods or junk foods and I still get fat.
I have to maintain a 90% vegetarian diet in order to not gain weight. The more I think about it, the more I believe that diet has little to do with weight gain. It all depends on your genes and metabolism. Just the same way it is so easy for some to gain weight while it is so easy for some to lose weight.
