I have insomnia again, the usual background noise fixes aren't working, anyone else get insomnia really often?

It is a chronic issue to me. It helps when I exercise two hours before I fall asleep. I also take melatonin and magnesium supplements.

Another thing that kind of helps is reading or writing before I fall asleep and staying away from my phone or my laptop.
by the way I still sleep at around 5 or 6 am - I usually work around 2 pm-, but in the past it was way worse and I went to work even after staying awake the entire night & day.

Have you found a solution yet?

Unfortunately I haven't yet, nothing that works consistently anyway. If I have ideas i my head, i have to write or draw them or my mind won't shut up lol.

But often the amount if ideas I have takes all night or longer to make.

I understand and I have similar issues but lately I have sorted that out a bit. What are your drawings about usually? Or do you constantly change themes? Or are they abstract?

Keep writing anyway and tweak it until you really like it. Rough drafts for anything are rarely good.

You can take melatonin, if u sleep so late like you have insomnia one day try to wake up early at first it will be hard but then u will get used


If these don't work, what are the reasons why you don't sleep? For example, are you worried or anxious about something?

1. Melatonin doesn't actually cause drowsiness, seratonin does. The fact that melatonin is sold as a sleep aid is an example of quack/snake oil medicine (it just hasn't been weeded out quite yet like cocaine mouthwash and electroshock therapy have). Either way the body produces both of those on it's own, so no one should need a suppliment, and taking suppliments can reduce your body's ability to make those compounds itself, leading to disease. At any rate, I'm not deficient in either.

2. I'm unable to wake up on demand.

3. The reason for the insomnia is creativity.

my insomnia is creativity caused, i can't sleep until i finish pr at least draft something, because I'm afraid I will forget the idea if I don't.

I need a faster way to get stuff done so i get to sleep on time, trying to force the sleep has resulted in nothing working.
