A few days ago I did two pregnancy tests and they came negative but still I had no period. Now I have brown spotting. Why?

I didn't see how old you are, but there is menopause to consider.

Also, things like cysts, endometriosis, and other medical issues. I'd say stress, but I've had a lot of stressful things happen in my life but my periods were still always normal.

I was only 45 when I got menopause. I was shocked because my Mom was in her 50's when she got menopause. So, I thought I would take after my Mom.

If it doesn't come and you want to know, see if you can get an appointment with your doctor.

If you have gone a long time with no sexual activity, and then suddenly there is a lot of activity... well sexual arousal can result in increased hormonal production that can cause your period to start early or later... depending on the time of the activity in correlation with your cycle.

Most professionals will not tell you sexual activity would or will not directly affect your cycle, but there is a reasonable amount of debate on the subject. Because there are many external factors that are non-sex related that could affect your cycle. Stress and anxiety would be the one that tops the list of possibilities.

So, it is more likely that if you had unprotected sex, there could be an increased amount of stress and anxiety involved. Over the counter test result in a lot of false positives/Negatives if you go for more than week late see a doctor and get a real test.
