Do you get NOSEBLEEDS in winter?

In winter, we spend more time indoors, where the humidity is low. Winter is also the time of year where cold and flu are more common, and we blow our noses more often. This may lead to nosebleeds.

Do you get nosebleeds in winter? If so, how do you handle them?

My son, when he was about 18 he
all of a sudden started getting nosebleeds with quit a bit of blood.

One time we were at the store and he was walking behind me then yelled out "Mom"!!! I turned around and he had cupped his hands and when I looked, his cupped hands were full and seeping over. We rushed him to the bathroom until he was controlled.
About 10 months later he came down with bacterial meningitis that went to his ❤️ heart and had emergency open heart surgery. He had bad mitral valve. After that surgery, he never got a bloody nose.
I'm not saying your heart is the cause, but you never know 🤷🏼‍♀️

While taking medication, my nose was bleeding in the winter, this was due to the side effect of the medication.

On the contrary; the humidity is higher in the winter. Every time you open a window, especially as it is raining nearly half the time during the winter...

And nosebleeds... Last time I had that, must have been over 20 years ago.

I use a saline spray to keep the nasal membranes moist. With low humidity and temperature they crack and bleed, and this prevents that. You can get the spray at a pharmacy. DO NOT try to make your own!

I get nosebleeds all time of the year but especially in dry air. It's always been an issue for me though. And I usually just try to coat the inside of my nose with something that seals in moisture & doesn't trap bacteria.

I do when I first cut my heat on when it first starts getting cold. My sinuses are garbage so my nose always bleeds when I'm getting used to having the heater on.

I get only nose bleeds rarely. No periods so it's a great trade off 😂😂

I don’t normally get them, but I use a humidifier to give the air moisture due to the dryness caused by the heat or oven being on.

Yup. And it's always one side of my nose usually, rarely the other side bleeds. 🩸

Low humidity is just a dream here, it tends to hang around 70-90% even indoors
