I'm just above ideal at 26 BMI. I'm working on bring back down some.
The scale is rightish, but doesn't tell the whole story.
I've seen people below 24 that are awful condition. This is a simplistic analysis. Question is what condition are you in... for the activities you are trained for. Can you take an adverse shock to the body? Can you handle adverse scenarios... e. g. you are at the top of the North Tower, it's on fire and you gotta run down 100flts of stairs or be crushed to death. Can you do it without screwing up everyone else? Can you carry someone else down?
Can you handle a bad hit of covid?
Can you... etc...
If not... you don't survive.
According to the very inaccurate height by weight measurement, the more muscle someone has, the more obese they are. It is a terrible measurement tool. People should be able to tell just by looking at themselves and seeing how much fat vs muscle they have and what kinds of physical activities they are capable of and their endurance for those activities to see how fit or unfit they are.
by the way, the majority of slim/skinny people are very unfit and have low endurance. Challenge them to a 25 mile bike ride and see how many skinny people can keep up.
According to the BMI charts most people are overweight or obese. There are many factors that have not been considered in the charts. As long as the doctor says you are healthy I don't think you should worry to much.
๐๐๐๐ thatโs so stupid. You sound like a fat acceptance activist ๐คก
How is it healthy to not be able to run for your life. MORN.
My bmi is 26 but I have no plans on changing it. Because of my short height bmi isn't accurate for me. Even my doctors have said to ignore it since my height counts as a child and I'm a grown woman
What about according to body measurements?

I'm a little under my healthy BMI but working on that, lol
According to BMI calculation I'm on the lower end of optimal. 19.22, so I'm good.
I feel like there's so many obese people nowadays and they all skinny shame me 😂 But I make sure to always do 250 pushups a day, 20 handstand pushups, sit-ups and other stuff occasionally. I'd say I'm pretty defined and happy with my body strength ability. These obese people are no where near as mobile as I am 😂
I just want to let you know as a former personal trainer that the BMI is bullshit.
The BMI really only takes into account your body weight. Itโs not accurate and doesnโt take into account a lot of external factors such as fitness level, physical activity, food intake or wether your body is fat or muscle, among other things.
there's a reason why a lot of personal trainers donโt use it.
Yeah but itโs basically the same shit as this
So it DOES count
Your right it is very similar to that and Iโve used that very device.
But I also always made it clear that the device isnโt accurate either itโs just a estimation.
I actually used a different method that took into account external factors such as your job, you overall physical activity, what you eat, etc. which was more accurate in my opinion.
Isnโt it basic science that is someone whoโs 5โ1 at 250 pounds, and doesnโt look like hulk.
Is obeseโฆ?
Ok then youโre stupid. Youโre probably submitting to the fat acceptance society ๐
If someone looks like a borderline Hippo? Are they not obese? โโโโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
Your probably lying about being a personal trainer
All I'm saying you can be muscular and not look like the hulk and still be within healthy ranges at 250lbs. But obviously if all or most of that 250lb is fat then no you wouldn't be within healthy ranges but there are middle grounds between the two extremes which seems to be what you aren't getting.
Why would I lie about it? Do you want to talk about some topics and stuff I learned as proof?
Like Sarcomere's?, the anatomical and physiological basis of stretching? Or maybe the origin, insertion, action and innervation of the trapezes or others?
Ooo ooo or I could tell you about the cervical vertebrae or the patella, program development, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, the biomechanical concepts of exercise, musculoskeletal deviations and soooo much more.
If someone looks like this, chances are theyโre not getting up off their ass, and theyโre shoveling down Tons of Food.
Chances are that the extreme weight isnโt all from muscles.
Chances are that the BMI is something over 50
Thatโs true but if you take someone who weighs exactly the same but is healthy and or in shape the BMI will be the same result as the obese person.
Hence the issue the BMI doesnโt take a lot of factors into consideration as I and lots of other people have already told you.
But itโs clear that your not going to be reasoned with logically.
No youโre just a fat acceptance clown ๐คก, pretending to be a scholar ๐
A true doctor would never say this shit

I got 21.6 so yeah. But if I'm ever higher to the "unhealthy portion" it will likely be due to added muscle mass.
Neither. At my height and level of musculature, I literally wouldn't have any weight to spare for skin.
But sure, go on telling me how I'm going to die young as you develop osteoperosis, medical industry.
Mine is perfectly within the healthy BMI range
I am, but I rely more on my fat/muscle ratio which tells more about a healthy weight or not.
No im not, but here is the funny thing.. I have less than 3% body fat.. And according to the idiotic worthless piece of shit body mass index, im obese.
Side note the BMI was invented by a nazi scientist, so they could determine how much Zyklon B they needed to use in the gas chambers to kill Jews.. Nah the BMI is old, out dated, and in my opinion evil science invented by evil people.
Underweight. Have been underweight since I was 17. I can shovel down thousands of calories and I gain nothing to maybe 1 lb which I lose if I don't eat 3+ times a day
bmi is bullshit and no longer is considered appropriate for the record
How is it BS. Itโs literal science ๐คก, you clown
By the way I said BMI, & โbody measurementsโ.
If youโre over 30 BMI , and donโt look like a body builder or hulk. Youโre obese and youโre probably shoveling food down your throat ๐
google it you clown!
The BMI is now used to assess whether someone has a โhealthyโ body weight and if they are worthy of treatment. But the scale is outdated, flawed and Eurocentric. It is a poorly evidenced metric for good health.17 Oct 2023
The BMI scale is outdated, simplistic and discriminatory
Discriminatory how bโch. are you stupid?
Didnโt graduate HighSchool? ๐
You need to be a certain weight for your specific height. ๐ this is basic. BASIC, science
No, but bmi is extremely inaccurate if you have any amount of muscle. Iโd be skin and bones if I was within the โhealthyโ range. I do need to lose weight, but not that much
no i have a bmi of 25 😭😭, if i lost 1kg i'd be at 24. i'm this fat cos i have BED not cos i'm lazy or something though. i try to diet everyday but i can't restrict anymore, just binge or eat at maintenance x ((( i wish i was 20kg lighter lol
My BMI is 22 and perfectly in the middle of normal I guess
My BMI is 18.8. I would love to make it 18.5.
According to BMI I'm overweight. I am also under 10% body fat. BMI does not work for people who are athletic.
Bmi uses height and weight. I am lean and muscular, and by bmi scale I'm in the overweight category. Yet it's inaccurate to me, due to the fact that my mass is muscles and not fat.
Wtf super obese, sounds like a comic book villain.
Wait there's a "super obese" now? They just created a new category? Is that like the Gabriel Iglesias category of "Dayum"!😆😆😆
Actually both charts are unrealistic. Had a friend who, by the charts, was severly overweight. He was an accomplished bodybuilder.
Yes, my BMI is 19
