    Stress is a standard reaction to challenging or unpredictable events in our lives. The basic chemistry of stress is centered around cortisol.

    To effectively manage stress, it's crucial to reduce or counter cortisol levels in our system. While this is a simplified approach, brain chemistry is a broader topic than the word limit for an opinion can handle.

    The most well-known methods for stress management require diligence.

    1. **Exercise** - Not just any exercise, but something enjoyable. Aim for at least 30-40 minutes of physical activity to trigger the release of endorphins, known as happiness hormones. This has a positive impact on your overall well-being.

    Additionally, physical activity clears your mind, a natural response ingrained in us: when physically tired, your brain finds rest, making it easier to organize your thoughts.

    2. **Proper diet and moderation** - A significant influence on both body and mind. Eliminate sugar as it disrupts blood sugar levels, affecting your brain and emotions. While sugar may induce a brief happy period, the subsequent crash intensifies negative emotions. Swap regular carbs for whole grains gradually, taking the time to explore various options.

    3. **Connect with others** - Share your struggles with those close to you. Seeking emotional support is vital; remember, you're not alone, and there are people willing to lend you an ear.

    4. **Consistency is key** - Establish new habits to keep stress and its effects at bay. Don't halt your efforts; maintaining these practices is essential for long-term stress management.

    Eating healthily, staying fit, getting sun, joking around with loved ones, cleaning, playing piano, listening to music, etc.

    But I notice that consciously working on letting go of a certain amount of my need for control over certain aspects can help a lot as well. The goal is to come to terms with how things are & value different outcomes so highly that I can't see the good in my current situation as much. Sometimes it takes a while. But I do try to come back around to it once all the negative emotions are felt. I especially like to ask myself questions that challenge my current viewpoints on what's stressing me. That seems to work wonders.

    The stressor needs identifying and dealing with.

    Outside that, the body can deal with stress to some degree. It's when it's cumulative and it never leaves off, I have found. Try and make at least a day or two for yourself where you've switched off from the world, in a healthiesh way. When I was stressed with studies I had to make sure my time was well organised and for everything to stop at 8pm so I could meditate and decompress.
