I can only say that the over weight problem is a national or maybe an international health crisis. My Orthopedic specialist/surgeon told me that many or most of his patients that he considers 'elderly' ... are 100 pounds overweight, which only contributes in a big way to their back, knee, hip problems.

As far as attractiveness, I will not go there.

It is not so much the fatness as it is the flabbiness. People can be overweight and still be somewhat fit. I knew girls that were heavy but looked good because they did not have rolls of fat everywhere.

Over 40 BMI? I would think it's the clothing and presentation more than the actual obesity that makes someone more unattractive. Just the same, some obese people can be very attractive simply by the way they present themselves.

A person of either gender would still be quite attractive at potentially a weight well above the 300-325 pound mark, in my opinion, and possibly higher than that.
