I tried regular squats and after a while in the gym I was able to do regular squats loaded with 50 kilograms (100 pounds) for 9-10 repetitions.
However, after a while I developed pain in the knee so I was suggested to do Spanish squats instead, until I heal.
I tried Spanish squats and after learning the technique I found out that I can do only 5 with my bodyweight before my quads start burning and I get a muscle failure.
The comparison is astonishing! I understand that Spanish squats are harder, but why would I go from 100 pounts 10 reps to just 5 reps with my body weight?
