It’s definitely a little on the lower end for a full term baby but nothing milk cannot cover. She’ll be chunky in no time.

It’s small but not bad. She will be ok. My oldest was 7 oz bigger and he is doing amazing now.

    I'm a girl (duh🙄) and I weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces

My son was two weeks passed his due date and he weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Lucky numbers 7 11.

Anything over 2kg... 2kg is the borderline for a child to be released home, at least here where I live

No, it's not, she's a bit underweight, breastfeeding is not going to fix this problem easily, but don't panic, when she could drink other than breast milk, give her extra, I mean, feed her more than what she should eat in a day. I did the same when I was born and the doctor said that breastfeeding would fix the problem, and that no need to supplement what I eat, m. guess what, I ended up in the hospital when I was only a year, fortunately I remember nothing..

Congrats by the way, you've got a cutie little girl 🤗🙂

Think both my kids were around 8lb and a bit in the old money , my 2nd daughter was a breach birth and was delivered naturally ( they no longer will do that in Australia , only cut out ) so that was pretty exciting , in the main room at the front ( coz she had to be induced ) with about 15 trainee doctors watching , everyone clapped and cheered when she was delivered perfectly , the big problem being the cord getting tangled..

So , I always said to her " You came out feet first and hit the ground running " , it was one of the incredible moments of my life I must say , they both were incredible , with Ms S , ( first ) there was drama too , but this came after.

I think it is at the low end of the normal range and not something you should worry about.

That's an okay weight (2.3kg), just over 5 pounds, a bit light for a newborn but girls usually weigh less than boys, which are typically closer to 3kg (7 pounds).

    Congratulations on your daughter. 😃

That is a little on the low side I am pretty sure I think the ideal healthy weight is 5.5 or 6 lbs (about 2.5 kg) but being off by only.2 isn't a bad thing just make sure you give the little one a little extra feeding for a bit.

Congratulations Kelly. I think the hospital will determine if your baby is healthy enough to be brought home.

That depends on hight and stuff, but wouldn't get too concerned with measurements. Instead judge it based on how you feel. Do you feel heavy? Do you tire out easily by moving your body around? That's how I look at it.

    Congratulations @kelly !

My mom tells me that I was just under 2kg when I was born. Other than being near-sighted, I have no health issues.

Skin color and ability to move air are really important. A crying loud pink baby is a good baby.

Sounds a bit light. I think 8lbs./4kg is normal. However, with good care and nutrition; she should be fine.
