Is this a bruise or skin cancer?

I have this mark on my leg it’s been here for a week but no sign of fading but not sure whether it is a bruise or melanoma.

Does this look like a bruise?

It appears to be a bruise that is about 5-14 days old (due to the yellowish ring of the bruise). That said, do NOT take this as medical advice. It looks like a bruise to me.. Go to your local Chemist and ask them though.. the pharmacist there will know in most cases a lot better than a GP.

The yellow around it makes it look more like a bruise. Cancer would not have that and have irregular borders, and most likely would be darker. Also, it doesn't appear all at once like a bruise does.

Looks like a bruise to me. From its location, I'm guessing you bumped into a chair... at least a few days ago.

A bruise of that size broke a lot of capillaries, and it can take several weeks for it to completely heal.

See a doctor! But it looks like a bruise. Does it hurt (a little) when you touch it? As I understand it, cancer tends not to.
