1, have you ever tried to adapt?

2, i recall an argument with my family phyician when i was around 8 age.

i had lost a swim competition despite practice and despite repeatedly decided to adapt... like the picture above, science claims animals "adapted". the giraf couldnt reach the high leaves so it adapted and stretched its neck...

so i asked the doctor if my hands or feet looked like a fish.

as expected he mocked me.

so i argued "but you *beleive evolution means animals adapted, so why can't i adapt to swim faster"

as expected doc said, "that takes many generations"

i anticipated that and argued "the parents, before adapted, could not escape and could not live llong enough to have kids". similarly the ancestors of giraf starved with short neck before the age of fertility. or did not need it but if so would not change! or need so starved.

so either way!

doc: "apparently they did"

me: "or a better explanation"

doc "enough talk say ah".

There are species that had a specific mutation that enabled them to survive and pass that mutation to it's offspring. That is how it works. Some giraffe was born with a longer neck and got to eat while others did not. It was able to reproduce and eventually the giraffes with shorter necks died out.

also what ypu described is not adapting. but gaining an advantage. but "science claimed adapt." that is backwards.
