1 yThe early 90's and everyone became obsessed with being black and gangster rap. Well that culture talked so much shit about smoking weed that you basically had to do it.
Oddly enough I just don't like weed. I became a multi-millionare from growing it and selling it, but I won't smoke it. It's just not me. I like my beer. I actually quit smoking it on my own and just rejecting the concept of fitting in. Once the need to be liked was gone, so was the need to get stoned.
I still see it today though... it's culture that pushes people into it. No real attraction to it seems to be natural or organic. Even the hippy types expose that they're driven by a culture they prescribe to if you get to know them long enough. Usually, it's music. Just like all those retarded white people that think they're black all of a sudden because they bought Snoop Dogg's album in the 90's. Same goes for all the different hippie types. Posers trying to fit into a group. Nothing more and nothing less.

1 yOne of my roadies.
Dan lived 3 blocks away from my fiance & I and invited us up to his place for a party. Nothing huge, just about 10 or 12 people that sat around talking, drinking and getting high.
We're all sitting on this huge circular couch and someone fills the bhong, lights it up and passes it around the couch. As usual, when the drugs come around to me, I'll take it from the person on one side of me and hand it to the person on the other side of me because I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. Dan knows this and will usually take the opportunity of me passing it to the next person to kind of razz me about it and try to entice me into trying it.
Back in the mid `70's, I told myself (because nobody else would listen) that, some day, I'll give it a try. Well, here it was, about 20 years later and I decided I'd give it a try. So, the next time the bhong came around, I tried a hit. All it did was burn my throat. After a few more circuits, I decided to try it one more time just to see if it'd be any better. It wasn't. It burnt my throat so, I said, "No more. I'm done!"
Exactly one year later, Dec. 12th, Dan had another such party and invited us up to it. We went and, again, the bhong came around to me, Dan did his usual taunts and, after the bhong passed me a few more time, I decided to give it just one more try. Again, all it did was burn my throat and that was the last time I ever bothered.00 Reply
1 yA friend at a party said something very convincing. “Here, you want to try some weed?”! The way she worded it was just so compelling, I thought to myself "Laura, this girl got a point, you really should try that weed!” I wasn't a huge fan of it, but years later, my doctor prescribed it for insomnia.
I hope this helps.

1 yOne of the neighborhoods I grew up in was pretty hoodsy, haha, so I actually got to be exposed to fiends of various types just out and about on the block, and saw the effects. I’d see some dude all hyped up, you’re like “fuck is wrong with him?”, and someone would tell you they were a crackhead. Or you’d see someone leaning out, someone would tell you they were on heroin. So I saw both those examples and was like “cool…. so don’t become THOSE GUYS”, and I never touched heroin or crack, or regular cocaine, just by relation.
Weed on the other hand…. I never once saw anyone act crazy or become truly incapacitated by it. I actually kind of resented teachers and the Nancy Reagans of the world for presenting it to me so dishonestly, in the same breath as crack or heroin. Honestly, had I not had firsthand experience with crackheads and junkies, and I had just experimented with weed organically and found that I had been sold a lie on the severity of it, I could envision a path where I said “they must’ve been bullshitting me about the other stuff, maybe I WILL try heroin after all…”, so maybe they’re better off not presenting weed in such a manner.
So, I just tried it when the opportunity arose, I enjoyed it, it was hardly any difference from my usual performance, and I’ve been enjoying it ever since. Most jobs I’ve had as an adult…. blazed the whole time, lmao. Zero bad experiences, on or off the clock, and never once have I ever felt like “DANG…. if only I hadn’t been stoned, things would’ve turned out better.”
Truly a “no regrets” situation, other than maybe money spent. But even most of my 20s, it was still illegal so I sold it, I was smoking for free, I really only cost myself profit, and let’s be honest, I wouldn’t have saved the extra anyway, I’d just have more Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts with cocky/risqué sayings on them that are no good to me 20 years later in a storage box🤦♂️😂
10 Reply Pretty boring and cliche answer, I think, but I was in college. We had just finished testing and wanted to relax, so some friends were having a little get-together. They were smoking and asked if I wanted to try and I figured "Why not?" By this point, weed wasn't all that big a deal to most people and being a Psychology student, even my classes had taught the same. So I gave it a try just to see what the big deal was.
It was ok, I guess. Never tried again, though. But I'm also not a drinker. Just don't really see the appeal, personally.
00 ReplyI used weed back in the early to mid-1970s when it was mainly Mexican.
It was fun and light-hearted.
Why did I use it?
All of my friends were doing it, too.
When the much stronger, nausea-inducing, couch-locking Colombian began to come in during the late 1970s, I quit using it completely.
Fast forward to the weed of today.
I've tried some different varieties in the last few years just to see what it was like and to see if it would help with physical pain.
All of it makes me horribly paranoid, but there are periods where I seem to have had some great insights and some magnificently beautiful hallucinations.
Overall, I'd consider modern weed to be a double-edged sword.
The paranoia that I experience keeps me from returning to it.
It can have some pain-relieving properties, but it's just not worth being paranoid in order to numb my physical pain.00 Reply
1 yI dated a stoner for a few months. It was fun, but I don't want to go back to it. Weed completely made me lose motivation for life, just wanted to be high and spend all my time on hobbies, food and sex. A very hedonistic lifestyle.
In moderation, it's okay, but it's easy to go from moderation of once a month to once a day if you let it.

1 yDare class. I was in 5th grade and this cop was telling about ways to go to crazy lands and speak with people who aren’t there. I was interested as soon as I heard them tell me about drugs. They make it sound great.
“Hey don’t ever do this drug! It makes you feel amazing and will help you forget the bad things in your life. Don’t do it!”00 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Curiosity.
