Pretty sure I will have a prostate exam tmrw. Are they bad?

I just turned 30, and I am having male issues. I have had chronic testicular pain, erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone. I finished a round of antibiotics to treat suspected epididymitis, but it didn't help. I was told by one PA friend that I may have prostatitis. I see the urologist tomorrow. Looks like I am getting the finger in the ass.

No worries dude, a prostate exam ain't that bad! I know it can seem kinda weird at first having someone finger your bootyhole, but the doc isn't tryna enjoy it - it's just part of doing their job to check your health.

I'd say just take a deep breath and try to relax your muscles down there as much as you can. The doc will use lube so it shouldn't really hurt, maybe just a bit of pressure. And it's over super quick!

My advice is right before the exam, think of something that turns you on to distract your mind. A hot girl, or your favorite sports highlight, whatever gets you going mentally. That'll help take your mind off what's going on physically down below.

Remember, this is for your own good - they gotta check the ole' prostrate to see what's up with your issues. Better to find out what's making you feel crappy so you can start feeling like your old self again, right?

They use lubricant and a glove and inform you they’re going to do it, so it’s not that bad from what I’ve heard. It’s not like you’re getting a surprise dry & rough finger up the bum. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

If it’s anything like a vaginal exam, the finger is nothing to worry about. The speculum is what women have to worry about, the finger is nothing.
