Has anyone gone to their urologist for a check up appointment?

I have never been to the urologist and I’m going to schedule an overall check up exam. Has anyone done this and what does it entail. I’m a little nervous how the procedure all works. I have my whole life had a female Dr. and feel uncomfortable with anyone else can that be a request too?

If it's just a checkup, it's not much different than seeing a general practitioner. They examine your penis, testicles, and do a digital prostate exam via anus with lubricated, gloved finger. It's a little embarrassing, but it's over pretty quickly. I just try to think about other things. They might have you provide a urine sample in a cup, but that's the easy part.

@docster is it true the can get a blood sample and not do a digital exam?

We used to have to have a complete multiphasic physical exam for my job.
Unfortunately the doctor that did the exams had really fat fingers and when he would check our anus it would really hurt.
So, everytime one of us had to go for our physical, we would tease the person about having to go see fat fingers 😅😂

@Beau2024 Keep in mind that I'm a regular guy and NOT a doctor, but I believe the PSA test has to do with prostate cancer. They might still want to do a digital exam to check the prostate size.
@sage2021 Funny story 😁 but I don't know why they would be checking a female that way.

I guess that's why they call it a multiphasic. They check everything out. Who knows I could have been like Raquel Welsh and had anal cancer 🤷🏼‍♀️
