Why am I testing positive for methadone when I’ve never took any?

I don’t actually know what methadone is. I’ve taken sleeping pills to go to sleep from the store. I’ve only been a weed smoker and I would drink cough syrup from time to time over 10 years ago so I’m not understanding how I can test positive for something. I haven’t been able to produce a lot of pee because every time I’ve been tested I just used the rest room so maybe that’s why
