Have you ever broken a bone, and if so, how did it happen and what was broken?

I've never broken a bone in my life *knock on wood*, but my youngest brother has a brittle bone disease and has broken many, many bones over his life. So it made me curious how many others out there have broken a bone before.

Multiple times

First one was when I was early 30s playing football (the real type not padded rugby) where the opposition guy hammered the ball off my foot as I went in to tackle and it split my ankle into 3 parts. I didn't know at the time and went out to a dinner dance that evening hobbling. Next day I couldn't walk and had a bruise the size of the football.

Then various times broken ribs from playing proper rugby where you have pain and discomfort breathing for a few weeks while it heels.

Then the worst of all (financially) a broken nose from playing rugby and walking in to the hospital without insurance card they accepted me right away (little did I know this was the hospital TV, Pop and celebrities go to) and was admitted overnight as my nose was under my left eye at this point and breathing through it wasn't working. Blood and snot everywhere. But I had a single room, TV, internet and all the trimmings and a spare bed where my wife could come and stay over. An operation next day got me the same less than perfect (they could have done a job on it IF wife had asked) honker as before. That cost me 9k in salary which was about 2 months wages at the time.

Last ones was another dumb roll of my same ankle and broke it again playing sport indoors.

I think I've cracked bones in fingers and ribs a couple of other times but that's carelessness.

This past June 5th, the distal phalange of my left middle finger was broken; in fact, it looked like my fingertip might have to be amputated.
This happened because my hand was involved in trying to break-up a dog fight between two of my dogs.
My finger will never fully recover and the nail (which fell out in September) that has grown back still looks fucked up. My typing is worse now too since I do not use that finger. Part of the nerves are dead or suppressed from scar tissue. And, if I touch it just right, I will get shooting pain.

I broke my right wrist and the surgeon refused to do surgery to realign the bones.
He just put a cast on it for 6 weeks and it's still broken.
I was an inpatient at a wellness center because I was very sick. I got up at 1 pm to use the bathroom. I tried crawling back into bed at the end of the bed but I forgot it had a footboard and I fell back and my wrist hit the hard floor.

I sprained my ankle when I was dancing 💃 but thankfully it wasn’t broken

Yup broke my ankle in the most dumbest way possible. I was going to a club and I drank before and I didn't realize how much I drank the street we were on was closed off to cars. So I was in front of the club and steppeed on the sidewalk, and misjudged the distance and broke my ankle. To make it worse no cars were alllowed on that street so they had to call an ambulance to come through on the blocked off street.

Car accident someone ran me off the road and it snapped my back out of place and now have a cage on my spine

Folded my foot over a kerb

Broke my big toe (only found out a few weeks later) as well as badly spraining my ankle and fracturing my metatarsals

I broke two ribs by a training accident. Had to learn to sleep on my back for the healing.

I had my nose broken once but the nose is made of cartilage so i guess i never did.

in kindergarten I fractured my arm tryna be a gymnast at recess. but other than that, no issues.
