“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

You have the EGO which is your own image of yourself. Then you have the persona which is only the things you'll reveal to other people.

The shadow is parts of yourself that you can't accept fully for some reason. It can be your own moral code that doesn't want to accept the idea of harming others. Or a gay person who was raised strictly religious and now denies their own sexuality, or a person who has very strict pairents that never let them play or have fun as a child. They struggle because they've never been allowed to be themselves and find out what they like.

When you integrate your shadow you become a more complete person, you'll probably gain confidence and assertiveness. But there is a bit of a challenge you need to overcome. You have to face the fact that you've lived your whole life in denial that a part of yourself existed. It can make you feel stupid, embarassed, humiliated, pathetic, empty. It can cause an earthquake and lightning in your chest, a lot of emotions can bubble up. It will all pass

There's also other forms of mental blocks like trauma. There are quite a lot of similarities between shadow work and resolving your trauma but they're not quite the same either. If you've resolved a trauma but there's still something bothering you about this incident then it might be because there's something else connected to that event as well. That happened to me.

There are also just general fears like making a phone call, saying no, asking for help, fear of rejection etc. All these can reduce the scope of your life. And all of them should be worked on if you can. But it's important to go at your own pace.

I hop this helped in some way. I'm very interested in mental health things but if you haven't looked into it yet maybe this can help you.

Have a good day :)
