They just look at the lines on the end of anything and named it, and if you think of it, what's stopping people from making new shapes with old shapes, you can basically just start making lines and as long as it reaches back where you started, boom a new shape, also some shapes are just made of shapes, like circles you can make using a lot of cones, two trapezoids make a hexagon etc, pacman is a shape as well, that little hungry bastard is a circular sector, who is out here looking at shit and going Octogus trogazoid 💀

Shapes are my profession. As a naval design engineer (and also spare time ''artist'') I visualize - or suggest as well - the ideas of people having ''an idea''.

It does happen that customers/audience ''name'' or perceive my shapes differently from myself. I see this as an enrichment, rather than a reduction.

Where your examples are only 2-dimensional.
