Apparently 90% of people do some form of this although not all are of the same severity. I don't actually push my teeth together and grind them (which I think causes the most damage to the teeth). I bite down on the back of my teeth then towards the front like a wave and then it starts at the back again. So I guess that falls under tapping. I was lying on the side so it was only happening on one side I don't know what happens when I'm lying on the back. But I've never been aware of it happening in my life but now that I have a tooth guard and I'm more aware of it I woke up while it was happening. It was a weird feeling. And I told my jaw to stop but it didn't. It just kept going. So I had to move my arm and hold my jaw still to stop it. I'm glad I have the guard though it makes it mentally easier because you don't have to think about your teeth and if they're still ok or not.
It's a weird topic but have a nice day still :)
