I have never punched anyone or been punched before. I don't like to experience pain.
My grandfather liked the sport.

Only wrestling in school, but it didn't involve punching. It was one of my least favorite sports to learn and have to participate in.
Never have and never will. I am a lover not a fighter lol

Yes, and i had zero training before i tried it. I thought i was a good fighter, but i was definitely a terrible boxer. Ell oh ell! I’m fortunate that my sparring partner went easy on me, even after i lost my temper and really tried to hurt him. I was exhausted in under three minutes, and more than a little embarrassed.
I was a County and parish champion in my youth before the British army. I spared and fought a few up and coming British & irish boxers, I did ok but never progressed past amateur. Probably because I was doing too many sports.
But it taught me a lot of discipline and self defence and has saved me a few. Like this Pakistani guy in a restaurant shouting at me, i clocked him straight away in the teeth and ran with my girlfriend. She asked me why? I told her the truth, they get themselves into a frenzy and out comes the blade and its stab stab.
We had to do it in high school. The gym teacher picked two guys and put the gloves on them and they fought. He paired me up with somebody who was bigger than me and I was a little afraid but I held my own and once i figured out what I was doing, I started going after him.
I was a former fighter I boxed. I was a golden glove champion. It’s very difficult. You have to be in great shape and know how to fight. If not, you can get really pounded. I had great talent so I worked well at it, but if you’re not experienced, you better know what you’re doing and work real hard to get in shape and keep those hands up. If not, you’re gonna get rocked by a big man and I’m a heavyweight.
oh boy, thanks for the details. How much is required to keep in top shape?
Like the sport bocking? That isn't gor me and my body. I think my uncle did that in the Navy, but that was some time ago.
I have sparred many many times. It is a good workout, teaches techniques, and if you ever get in a real fight you won't go into shock when struck.
I used to do mma. Only ever did sparring and amateur fights though.
Yes i have but not professionally. I learned it not as easy as it looks and you get tired way faster when your getting hit
I have many guys in backyards, parks, and garages with gloves and no gloves. I should have worn a mouthpiece
Nothing so civilized for me. Just street fights.
no. that's stupid
Never have never will
