    LOL, I used to drive my ex wife nuts. I've been living on 4-5 hours sleep per night for my entire adult life. First in college burning the candle at both ends. Then in the military whether in training or on a mission, never knowing when I could sleep or how long or in what conditions.

    So what evolved is the ability to fall asleep almost anywhere at the point of exhaustion, Noise, bare ground, daylight, grass or rock, none of it matters. I can lay down and pass out in minutes. Give me an hour and I'm probably good to go for another 8 hours.

    Anyway my ex was always amazed and jealous that I could go from awake to unconscious for an hour or so to awake again and just keep going. She could only fall asleep when the clock told her it was time to sleep, perfect dark, a comfy bed, etc.

    So I'm a huge fan of napping if you feel like you need it. No need to collapse on a rock. Couches and beds work fine. Aside from that, get up and move around. Go for a walk. Caffeine helps. We had much stronger stuff in a pinch like Nor Epinephrine (synthetic adrenaline) and Amphetamines. But I'm not recommending that for anyone in daily life. It puts an incredible strain on your internal organs, notably your heart. You flirt with death every time you use that stuff.

    You ca drink all the coffee or energy drinks you can handle but nothing can wake you up like sleep. Pulling over and putting the seat back and just sleeping for 15 minutes or so changes everything even the rest of your day. It doesn't fight sleep like caffeine it erases it. You simply are no longer tired. When I feel tired that's what I do. If I get tired later on, I do it again. That seldom happens though. The other thing is exorcise. Run , lift , swim the more fit you are the less sleep you need.

    Splash cold water on my face, drink green tea, slap myself in the face (not kidding), workout (sometimes it just makes me more tired, but it does give a short energy boost).

    Trying to sleep eight hours if possible, but try to at least get seven hours in. Sometimes if you’re tired you just have to overcome things and push yourself through it

      I take animal pac. It’s full of vitamins and amino acids. That will get you through sleepiness.
