Nobody is addicted to dopamine. We just use dopamine/endorphins (or equivalents coke/fent) to cope with traumas. And yes, being poisoned by fent is a form of emotional trauma, failing to process it is what causes an addiction, not the chemical imbalance. That's why chemical solutions only lead to endless cash flow.

The devil that tempts is of your own making.

Getting pleasure as a distraction from pain is like rewarding yourself for being a coward. No wonder that the more people seek dopamine the more depressed they get. I think that anxiety + dopamine = depression.
