I spoke to my personal physician about being depressed. He took me seriously and told me that I was not the only one depressed during covid. He said it was because of the isolation. I had lost my job because of the pandemic. He gave me pills that were supposed to help. I took them until I drove up a One Way street the wrong way.
I had a friend who was a wellness coach. She told me that depression sometimes is caused when people get out of the loop of control of their lives. I worked towards getting control and it helped for a while but covid got much worse and Biden was president and everything went to hell.
Daily mild exercise for about 15 to 30 minutes maximum. Walking at your normal pace or slower will help a great deal. This is not regular exercise, and doing it more vigorously or more often will not be good for you. It has a very specific purpose. It's too complicated to explain here, but if you follow this prescription, assuming you have no medical limitations, then you should feel better within literally 2 or 3 days. Of course, this assumes that you have the energy to do this, but if you can just bring yourself even to do it for 5 minutes a day to start with, that would be good too. Don't exceed 30 minutes, and don't walk faster than your normal walking pace.
If you cannot do this, or if you can do it and don't want to, or if you actually do it and you find that it's not effective, then please consider psychotherapy. You can also combine this with psychotherapy for an even faster and better result.
Yeah, that and major anxiety issues.
Not sure if it helps but I am on mood stabilizers, anxiety meds and doing therapy. I am better than I used to be but I still struggle at times. I tend to isolate and push people away when I get bad. My partners do their best to stay with me and not let me get in my feels. That helps too.
On and off my entire life.
@msc545 comment on walking is a good one. Of course, you need to find the will to walk. Which isn't always easy.
My experience is that antidepressants do more harm than good. Help sleeping can be useful though.
You are correct. Finding the will or energy to walk is perhaps the biggest stumbling block, but once you do, the results are almost instantaneous. The same goes for swimming, and even more so, but unfortunately, most people don't have access to a swimming pool or the ocean.
Very disrupted sleep can sometimes be helped by prescription sleep aids, but in at least some cases where sleep is affected by nightmares, they usually do not help. The most frequent complaint I hear about antidepressant medication is that it doesn't work.
Yes. My friends helped me come out of it along with therapy, medication (Wellbutrin) and music.
What caused it? Several things but mostly my circumstance in life.
What kind of circumstances?
I have schizophrenia.
Yep!! People bullying me on here and making up lies about me and everyone that says I don’t understand certain things because of my disability why do they do this?
Did you overcome it?
Not really
How long are you using this app?

I came close a few times as a teenager, but I always just pulled myself out of that hole when needed.
Yeap. Meds help, therapy was meh, alcohol works once i drink enough. Can't feel a fucking thing then
You're only comfort zone, isn't meds nor alcohol, it's the one and only, the ancient caveman 😁
