Well, you are pretty tall, so 230 lbs isn't as much on you compared to someone who is shorter. However, you're still obese according to your BMI---a healthy weight range for someone your height is 129-174 lbs (of course, BMI isn't a perfect tool, since it doesn't account for muscle mass, it still gives you an idea).
In my experience, both from previously being obese myself, and from talking candidly with other obese and overweight people (online, in weight loss communities, etc.), I think it's quite common for overweight and obese people to lie to themselves, downplay, or minimize their weight problem (for example, "I'm big boned", "I carry my weight well," "I don't look like I weigh that much," "A lot of it is muscle", etc.).
When I was 15, I was 5'5" and weighed 200 lbs. (That's a BMI of 33, which is the same BMI that you are at 5'10, 230 lbs). I was actually pretty active, I took dance classes and played soccer and I had very muscular legs... but that doesn't mean that I wasn't carrying a lot of excess fat. I thought I carried it well, but then I saw pictures of myself that suggested otherwise.
I got over feeling nervous about someone finding out my weight though, because whatever the number is, it doesn't change what you physically look like. If someone finds out how much you weigh, and you really do look like you weigh a lot less than that, the most that would happen is that they might say, "Oh, you don't look like you weigh that much."
And really, as long as you're happy with yourself and are taking care of your health (eating well, working out, etc.), then it doesn't really matter what other people think.

You want my advice on what I think, to start I would never like to put anyone down and make them feel awful about themselves, at the end of the day, people will love/like you for YOU, not the way you look!
To start off with I'm 94lbs...and obviously have muscle (I have been a personal trainer, I do boxercise, running, fitness about twice a day) . A good muscle percentage shouldn't put THAT much weight on you.
my advice to you would be to get down your local gym. Ask to have you body muscle calculated. then you can around about work out how much of your body weight is from your muscles. Then work out whether your happy with you non-muscle body weight.
At 5'10 you can get away with 230lbs. The fact is you are your body's worst critic, you see your minor flaws - that no one else notices, and think they are major flaws.
As long as you stay healthy that's the most important thing. As I don't know all your weight figures its hard to give total advice.
I do know that at 230lbs and 5'10 your BMI sits at 33...this is in the obesity range (theres overweight, the obese). No matter how much of that is muscle, it's still not a healthy weight.
Well Serena Williams is 5'9 and officially listed at 150 and she looks pretty manly and I'm pretty sure she's like all muscle. So at 5'10 and 230 I'd assume you're either A) manly looking or B) bigger than you think. But in any case if I heard a girl weighed 230 I'd think she needs to go to the gym for some cardio, not weight lifting.
It's funny but my train of thoughts went from trying to figure out how heavy that it realisticly, then figuring out I wouldn't be able to have wall sex with her, then wishing a was taller and buffer so I could pick girls up. :(
BUT! I wouldn't judge you based on the weight, I'd just look at you.
I would probably think you have low self esteem (hopefully not), and tell you not to worry about how you look, but more so your health. If it's truly muscle, then you'll never have to worry about walking down a dark alley...actually, I would probably hire you as a bodyguard.

At 5' 10', you probably have a nice 'full' shape. I don't mean that as fat. Actually, I like taller, more filled out women. I can not stand the 'chicken leg' look of real skinny girls. Some of my favorite models are those at size 12 to 14. They have butts, boobs and a figure. There are guys out there who do like that combination of height, not skinny and having a figure.
I wouldn't think she's fat and that's because I'm the same way. I have big muscles and I'm not fat at all. In fact, my body is well-proportioned, curvy and fit.
No one should judge based on numbers on a scale.im sorry I find it hard to believe that you weight 230 and the "majority of it is muscle"... even if you do have nice muscles, with that weight you are still fat.
unless she's 6'2" or major ripped with bulging steroid muscles I would probably think she is fat.
That is huge. I would think either obese or a bodybuilder. How tall are you?
I'd be concerned for your health.
If she was 7 feet tall she would be perfect!
I can still carry you around so I don't care
