What is your view on plastic surgery discussion? (Post your source)

I have noticed that there all some different ways to look at plastic surgery: Fake, disgusting, miracle worker, life changing, etc...

If you choose to answer this question, post an article, survey, scientific journal, some reliable source of info to prove your point on your view of plastic surgery.

i have to go with life changing. getting plastic surgery doesn't define who you are. it doesn't make you fake or some bimbo. everyone gets plastic surgery to correct something they don't like or in cases where there is pain or a need for reconstructive surgery. personally I am getting a breast reduction soon. as of right now I am 38DD. I do not like the look of my breasts and the areolas are quite large. they don't cause any back pain but I have never liked them so I plan on getting surgery to hopefully help me like them. I know surgeons are not mircle workers and anything can go wrong but I'm taking that risk

according to this article plastic surgery can boost someones confidence for a short time but I do have to agree that people have to work on their confidence and self esteem. surgery can help tho with that process

To me it's either fake or life changing - individuals that undergo plastic surgery to prevent aging and then become addicted to it even when they looked perfectly fine before, I don't agree with.. but if your extremely self-conscious about an aspect of your appearance and altering it would make you feel better about yourself, I see nothing wrong with that, same goes with accident victims..

if anything one should do it for themselves not for others.

I also liked at the very end it says it won't give anyone confidence, so you need to realistically know what to expect from surgery.

Gwyneth looks better but hers looks more like a California makeover than plastic surgery. Most of the other celebs look like circus freaks in their After pictures:(
