Would date you date someone with a physical defect?

Sooo I was at the gym today. I noticed a good looking 20 something female. She was in great shape and attractive. As she got off the machine I was waiting for I noticed she had a limp. Not an injury, rather a physical defect. I immediately became thankful for my health. But I couldn't help but to think if I was her would anyone would want to date me.

I present to you this question if you meet a good looking female/male with a mild defect would you rule her out?

It really does depend what the defect is and the severity of it.

Let's say he's missing part of his leg because he was born like that or because he got run over by a car when trying to save a kid. In the first case, he couldn't help it and in the second case, that speaks more to him being a great guy and is commendable. In this scenario, no it's not a problem.

But if the defect is a mental deficiency, even a mild one, then that poses a great deal more complications so I probably say no.

Very few people in the world would consider the way they are perfection. I would date someone with a slight physical defect...you don't always know a persons story, they can't help it.

No problem. But you know what would be really great? If she had a sense of humor about it and it wasn't a sensitive topic. That would be the best thing she could do.

Yes it would. But chances are s/he would feel sensitive about it in the dark of the night or quiet moments

Yeah, getting to know her more would not only help me get familiar with it, but she could get comfortable with me (and also my open sense of humor). And I'm talking like, if I called her a pirate or something in a teasing way, that would make her amazing.

men have a protective instinct towards women. example: wheelchair-bound girls seem kind of vulnerable (which can be sexy) --> male protective instinct kicks in. I wouldn't mind carrying her to bed ;). a man is supposed care for his woman. if I like her/think she's sexy, I won't rule her out (no matter how severe the defect is).

There are things that I guess would make them less attractive.

A limp is not an issue.

No I wouldn't rule her out. I know how how difficult things like that can be especially in dating. There are far more important things than that when it comes to matters of the heart.
