Futbol- Although that being said you should just refer to it as "football" :P That American silliness I refer to as 'Gridiron', Australian Rules as 'Eggball' and Rugby/Rugby League as 'Hand Eggball' or 'Bumsniffball' as appropriate; the common trend being that kicking the ball is more incidental in most barring the Australian variation which is parochial at best despite the rather nonsensical and amusingly shameless advertising spiel they use to make it out to be some kind of sport that people beyond these borders care about.

It's not even a contest. It is the greatest sport in the universe in my humble opinion; what other sport has so much interest/appeal amongst so many different cultures, peoples, ethnicities etc. and commands so much devotion? Which other has so many distinct styles, methodologies, tactics and has created innumerable legends that transcend time and the aforementioned barriers? It is a gift and although it has been tainted by commercialism, wanton greed and prima donna types, it is still a truly beautiful game when played in the right spirit.

I use to play soccer when I was a kid... I wanted to play football, but my mom wouldn't sign me up because as big as I am, she still thought I'd get hurt. lol She let me wrestle though and I became a state champ. I find it funny because almost every tournament I went to someone got their collarbone broken, broken fingers, and I even saw someone get paralyzed right in front of my eyes one time. I was running the score board and this guy got dropped on his head. She also let me play hockey which is the equivalent to football with knives on your shoes and clubs... Moms... What are you going to do... =P

Football is fun to play with friends I guess, but I never played it in a league... I think soccer takes more endurance and technical skill. I prefer to watch soccer more but footballs OK every once in a while.

American Football is boring to me. Every few seconds there is a time out and a game is way too long. But it's OK if you like it more than soccer, it's all a matter of preferences.

Because it's not necessary. I think you Americans are too obsessed with scoring and winning and losing. If no team manages to shoot more goal than the other team, then it is just fair that both teams end up in a tie. I don't see what the problem is.

You know, in a national championship it's about points. 3 points for winning, 0 for losing, and one for a tie. But in international cups there is a group with the point systems, and then it turns into an elimination system, where there are no ties anymore. I think it is perfect the way it is.

I vastly prefer strange wtf Handegg, though I wll cede the point that "soccer" should really get the title of football.

I get that most of the world seems to like futbol, but I've never gotten why. I've tried to watch it before, it's just not interesting to me. All I ever want to see out of a futbol game I can get in the 5 min highlights. Also don't find it that much fun to play.

American football, however, is one of my favorite sports to watch and I do enjoy playing it.

Not saying one is better, just that I vastly prefer one.

I like Futbol better really, the American football is getting boring cause they are not letting the players hit, they always calling a flag. that's why they had the lockout last year cause rating are down. the human race is a crazy one they wanna see bone breaking hits and ending careers shots

Football is more enjoyable. There's more scoring, and there's actually tackling. When a guy in football is injured or hurt, it's going to be a big deal. More importantly, it's easier to gamble in football; thus, it is the reason why football is very popular in the United States.

Futbol (soccer) is way funner imo. Playing football is pretty fun but soccer is a bit funner. As for watching, soccer is better by far.
