How do you usually react when your boss scolds or lectures you at work?

When your boss gives you a lecture at work what is your usual reaction?

Just stand there and take it

The boss gets respect by default. That's in your best interest!

However, if he or she is uninformed or otherwise way off base, I will either try to tactfully and respectfully make that point during the discussion, or subtly make it evident that he/she was wrong later, over time.

I didn't vote because neither of the options would be correct IMO.

PS - if he/she is right, as is sometimes the case, I acknowledge that and apologize and then try to improve and prevent whatever I did wrong from happening again. The important thing is to try to understand where they are coming from and be honest with yourself.

Perception is reality. Whether or not they are correct, if they believe they are then talking back is probably not wise.

Normally I would just take it because I know I have probably done something wrong. I would try and get my point across if I thought I had to but in the end I know it ould be in my best interest to just take it.

I usually just take it as much as I would like to say something back I don't, especially when my supervisor speaks to us like we're kids. I don't want to jeopardize my job in any way so I deal with it.

I will stand there and keep quiet (my mind is cursing him/her like its nobody business) after finish lectured I will be complain to my friends later when I reach home lol

I am very easy going I would listen then very calmly so "Ok", then walk away. Which would likely piss them off, mission acccomplished. Lol

C. try to understand why he's lecturing me, if it's actually about me I try to improve the things I can. if he's just in a lecturing mood because he's upset about something else I stand there taking it and hope it doesn't become habit.

My main boss-I just take it.

Now when my supervisor scolds me,I take it personally because she's my favorite.

Listen first and I will admit if I'm wrong but I always stand up for myself and throw a good point back at him if I think he's being a bit unreasonable. He usually listens and backs off
