What do you consider too skinny?

I've never thought of myself as too skinny. I see myself as average. In fact, I used to be overweight but now I am at a healthy weight for my height. I even feel I could lose another 5 pounds, and yet a guy turned me down for being too skinny and he told me to get some meat on. I know a girl who is the same weight as me and she is taller and she looks good. Guys flock to her. I am 5'4 and 110 and that is a normal weight according to the BMI index. My friend is 5'7.

I used to be fat. A year ago I was 5'4 and 140. Now that is huge, and I don't ever want to be that big again.

110 pounds for 5'4'' seems perfectly normal to me ! 110 pounds for 5'7'' seems underweight though.

About the guy : it's all about his taste. He seems to like women with a little more meat than you. It doesn't mean your weight is too low to be healthy. It's just not what he likes in women.

And about the other girl :

If he thinks you're too thin, he probably thinks worse of the girl you're talking about. YOU think she looks good, you don't know if the guy finds her pretty at all.

If you feel good in your own skin, that's what matters in the end ! You will always find guys (and people in general) who will criticize you, your looks, your weight.

You have a healthy weight. There is no need to lose any, it could become unhealthy, and there is no need to put on some weight just to please the guy :)

First you have to see if the guys your friend attracts are the same type of guys you attract. It could be that guys who like her like the model look (read: tall and skinny). And the guy who turned you down just doesn't like the model type.

I consider people without exception too skinny if the rips are sticking out, esp. between the boobs, or if the spine sticks out like Natalie Portman's in Black Swan.

BTW just because you are not too skinny by my definition doesn't mean you can't be too skinny by other people's definition. In fact, I think most guys usually prefer normal girls (read: girls with boobs and a little tummy) to skinny girls (read: no tummy, but no boobs).

Maybe he meant you could work out and get some tone? Or maybe he liked you before you lost the weight? Or maybe your personality has changed.



Maybe your friend smiles more dresses nicer, has a nicer shape, is louder... or whatever. I think you should probably just not really compare yourself to her . Guys all have such different tastes anyway. Just try improve your own sense of self don't worry how much else someone else is picking up.

You sound normal based on BMI to me too.

The only non calculated factor would be your breast size.

If they are small to average, I'd say you are fine.

If they are large, then maybe the rest of your body is too thin.

I'd say they are normal. I wear 34 b bra size.

You sound nearly perfect to me then. Being you know how the BMI works, you know you are at the low side of the weight range already. That said, you don't need to try and loose more weight. If you want to do anything, build some muscle in places that will compliment your body type. Muscle is heavier than fat, so you will gain some weight in doing this, but it will be good. And then if there is any fat that needs to be targeted, you can go after that. "Well Toned" is what you can work toward :)

What size are you size 0? and you think anything over that is HUGE? lol. do you relalize that the average women is size 8 in pants? and who cares about what society thinks, the society is highly over sexualized, glamourized and materialized. If someone doesn't like you for who you are then they shouldn't be worth the time or the day.

You are way thin and sound like you are dealing with body dysmorphic disorder. How are you going to go for a guy and not be comfortable in your own skin like that? And what's up with your friend being that thin too? You guys need to gain some weight, because bones aren't fun.

well there's not really any reason to lose another 5 lbs...

and depends how you carry your weight because 110 sounds fine for 5'4 but maybe you do just look kinda too skinny (at least you did for that guy's tastes). I am 5'3 and 110 lbs and look fine but when I was 100-105 I looked creepily skinny.

that guy just probably doesn't like girls who are too thin. but some guys do. everyone's different. if you feel healthy at 110 then just stay there

What does your friend have to do with this?... I don't recommend you lose anymore weight without consulting your doctor first.

Because she is the same weight but taller and people don't see her as too skinny. So therefore I can't be, and more men call her body sexy than they call mine. They call me cute and her sexy or hot.

And my doctor knows I've lost weight. I went to him for advice last year because what I was doing wasn't working to lose weight. So he gave me advice, and it worked. I saw him three weeks ago for my regular check up and he said I look good and congratulations on the weight loss.

I meant consulting him about more weight loss... And geeze girl we aren't all cookie cutter types. If your friend is taller than that is that. Losing more weight obviously isn't going to close the height gap. Wear heals if that is the problem. Buy 6" ones and you are already 3" taller than your friend. Getting to a point to where guys are saying that you are too skinny isn't working, do something else. Dye your hair, get a new hair cut, paint your toe nail's blue.

I wasn't meaning I was jealous of her height. I wear high heels all the time. I was just saying that if a guy assumes that a girl at 5'4 and 110 is too skinny, then guys should think a girl who is 5'7 and 110 is too skinny, but they don't. They see her as sexy and hot. I'm just making a point that I can't be too skinny if she isn't too skinny. I thought my point was obvious.

It's pretty obvious, and one of the other posters saw what I was doing. Anyway, you didn't answer the question I was asking. I wasn't asking how I can get too skinny or taller. I was asking what guys consider too skinny.

I would say 110 for someone 5'4 is fine, but I wouldn't recomend getting much lower than 110. I'd say depending on your frame, anywhere between 108 and 120 would still be considered thin.

Guys are often idiots. Who cares about a few lbs...You've gone to a lot of effort to get to a pretty healthy weight, and you should be proud of that.
