I’ve had opportunities to shoot a lot of common firearms, and i have enjoyed most of them. I definitely have some favorites though. I understand that sometimes it’s difficult to narrow choices down to a single one, so if you have multiple favorites, share a few! What are your favorite firearms?

That's a tough one... I own several but they're all pretty unique.
My favorite pistol is the VP9, and its little brother, the VP9SK, which are my primary home defense and CHL pistols, respectively. Pistol preference tends to be extremely subjective, but to me, HK and Walther are easily my favorite brands.
My favorite AR setup is modified from the Mk12 (mid length barrel with rifle length gas system), which I also use for hog and coyote hunting.
My favorite historical rifle is the Mauser 98K. I bought a '43 Oberndorf model a few years back and it's honestly more fun to shoot than any modern bolt action I've used. That said, my big game hunting rifle (which I took to Africa) is a custom Remington 700 chambered for.338 Federal, and it has a barrel swapping setup installed to swap over to 6.5 creedmoor for smaller hunts or target shooting. I made it for Kudu, but actually took an Eland, Waterbuck, Klipwith it.
Shotguns... I can't think of any "perfect" ones, but Benelli's Nova/Super Nova, as well as the M4 are my favorites and I own both.
And I don't own this one, but I really liked shooting the MP7A1 (blows every other SMG including the rightfully lauded MP5 out of the water), and my favorite weapon I ever used in the Army was the Mk48.
Dishonorable mentions: Everything made by FN that isn't a belt-fed machine gun is overrated at best, and their F2000/FS2000 is, in my opinion, the worst military style rifle ever made (that I've shot). Most companies that hold large government contracts (Colt, Glock, FN, Sig, Remington, Daniel Defense) turn around and charge a premium for their products based on the hype and name, when there's not actually anything all that special about them other than having the manufacturing output to meet the demands of government contracts at the time of negotiation.
Colion Noir, prominent second amendment advocate and lawyer, has been hyping FN recently. Do you think he’s a paid promoter or is there a chance that they’ve upped their production quality?
FN is fully capable, as at one point they took over the M4 production at least in part from Colt, their M4s were great, and their belt-fed weapons are some of the best in the world, even though they're a bit heavy. The SCAR rifles are good, but they aren't twice the cost of an AR-15/AR-10 good, as their only real advantage is weight reduction (which can also be achieved in a custom AR build, but is much more profound comparing it to the Mk14 the Mk17s replaced in USASOC). I don't really follow Colion enough to know who or why he endorses who he does, but my opinion on FN's arsenal is based on time in Jordan and Syria, and the F2000 and the FNP pistol I shot on my own, both of which I'd rate extremely low. Again, with gov contractor companies, they invariably turn around and charge a premium to the public just because of their name, and it's pretty much never worth it.
In person, I've only fired a few; I can't really comment there. If we count electronically, I'd say the M2 Browning- a gun from World War 1 that's still in common use today, even in the cutting edge United States military. It cuts beautifully through Super Mutants and yet still works on robots, even without the special armor-piercing ammo.
In a more abstract admiration sense, I'd say the GAU-8. Designed by someone who looked at an M61 Vulcan and thought "Yeah, it's cool, but I want one the size of a Volkswagen that shoots bullets that can cut tanks in half". You gotta respect that.
I am a firearms enthusiast! I’m also a video game enthusiast! I’ve definitely fired more different kinds of guns in games than i have in real life. But it’ll never take the place of real world shooting for me. I also seem to prefer shooters with otherworldly weaponry over the realistic ones, usually.
Have you ever cranked a Gatling? It’s exhilarating! However, that experience was enough to convince me that i don’t want to be anywhere near the kinds of heavy armaments used on ships and tanks.
I’ve always thought the H&K G3 platform was really cool. My friend in West Virginia has a PTR 91 clone and I’m jelly because I definitely can not get one in California. Eventually I’ll move somewhere better like Tennessee or the Carolinas and buy one then.
That H&K is definitely a classic look for a military rifle. The PTR 91 looks a little long for a “tactical” firearm, but it does look kool! I’ve never shot either of them. Have you?
Personally I live the fixed stock look with the Green furniture, but my friend has a telescoping stock on it.
I have not, just experiences with neutered ARs and a non-neutered AK with a standard capacity Mag, but I have shot a.30-30 Winchester and a Krag Jorgensen, not the Krag Carbine.
My dad had a lever action Winchester 30-30 that i wanted bad! He left it to my cousin. I went and asked for it. I felt like i had to. He very nicely described his favor for it, so i didn’t push.
The.30-06 Springfield cartridge, 7.62×63mm in metric notation, and called the.30 Gov't '06 by Winchester, was introduced to the United States Army in 1906 and later standardized; it remained in military use until the late 1970s. The ".30" refers to the caliber of the bullet in inches.
The 30-06 was my favorite until i shot the 300 win mag. Damn that’s a fine shooting powerhouse of a rifle. I luv’d my dad’s lever action 30-30 too, but that was kind of a novelty appreciation. It just like the “big boy” version of my Daisy Red Rider, and harkened the classic western movies i grew up watching.
Soo hard to choose one of my faves is the browning automatic rifle , i even dig the baby browning im currently kicking around the idea of buying a smith and wesson 500 mag with 10" vented barrel I have a small collection of guns and out of what i own some of the favs are colt ar15 20inch barrel chambered for.223 Remington model 700 22-250 Kimber 1911 I got a really nice remingtom 870 wingmaster 30inch barrel walnut stocks

Don't really have one. My husband bought me a pink glock and a rhubarb revolver for the house and my car but i never look at them. He's taken me shooting a few times but eh not my thing.

Well, that’s an unfair generalization. Pink guns DO sell. So do pink tools. No joke. It’s not just men buying them for women and girls either. Chicks dig pink. The fact that he bought you firearms despite your lack of interest and experience is a little disturbing though. Guns usually retain their value pretty well. You could sell them and buy something you really like! Ell oh ell!
You can't sell gifts. I'm surprised he bought me guns after the incident in Vietnam. We were at a range in Vietnam where you could shoot all these old machine guns and I nearly shot everyone, they took it off me
Interesting. Do you have one in particular you favor? “SMG” usually means “sub machine gun”, and that class of weapon has also been referred to as a “machine pistol”. They come in a variety of sizes and styles. What inspired the interest if you’re not a shooter?
I don’t know if it’s still there, but there used to be a place in Las Vegas where you can pay to shoot with uncommon firearms, including some automatic options. They might have a Kriss Vector for you to try, or something similar.
I like all firearms handgun , shotgun and rifle they all have a purpose weather for sports , competition , hunting , self-defense etc some are artfully beautiful
I've never fired a gun before, but i've played games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Call of Duty. I think one of my favorite firearms is the Krag Jorgensen bolt action rifle.
Ell oh ell! I’m not sure what you mean by “or plain”, but i’ve shot several 12 gauges in my time. I like the “tactical” designs with pistol grips best. It just feels right.
I have one of the earliest MCX rifles, an SBR, and it has been great for me. I’ve invested in just about all the modular components with which to reconfigure it.
That’s awesome! A Marlin.22 was the first gun i ever shot when i graduated from my Daisy Red Rider! That very gun is still in my family. I want it so badly!
I picked up a Thompson.45 with an empty 100 round drum at a gun show once and it was by far the heaviest gun i’ve ever held. I gotta believe that shotgun is pretty close.
