Have you ever done bird watching? How did it go?

I'm not an ornithologist and don't know the names of a lot of birds, but I know some. But my wife and I live on 30 acres in a rural part of California and really enjoy all the birds that visit.
We have lots of quail. Turkey vultures and hawks are ubiquitous (I can't tell one kind of hawk from another). A bald eagle flew by once. We feed humming birds. We have lots of beautiful woodpeckers, some blue jays and crows. We get robins, bluebirds, doves and sometimes lots of yellow finches. Spotted towhees and oak titmice are common. We sometimes get turkeys. I hear owls and have seen great horned owls a few times. There are quite a few other types.

My wife and I went to a nearby marshland bird sanctuary a couple years ago. I really enjoyed that. I couldn't begin to list all the different kinds of birds and waterfowl we saw there. We took some good photos.

Yeah, a little this morning. There's a type of dove that settles around where I like to take my nature walks and I was able to take a few photos of it as well.

Bird watching is awesome i have sceen some crazy shit before I like watching nighthawks and i like watching how all the little birds gang up on crows, eagles, hawks one of the sweetest things i have sceen was they released a griffon into the wild it had been in a shitty zoo all its life and at first did not know what to do it never flown I watched a mother osprey teach its offspring how to fly that was bad ass

Currently I live next to the woods, so we get lots of birds. The most prominent are a two loud owls that seem to be in a singing competition against each other. 🙄🤷‍♂️
