Have you ever or would you try Duck? And if you did, did you like it?

Question

I've made duck a few times for holidays and the family loved it..
A few weeks ago, went out for dinner and discovered a restaurant near me has duck dinners as one of their Sunday specials, so ordered it and YUM!
Was so good and quite a lot of food for $14. So good, I ordered it as take out to go the next Sunday... Was tempted to order today, but have food here need to cook, and having a lazy, don't want to go nowhere weekend..

I've had Peking duck at Chinese restaurants. It was really good.

A friend of mine used to go duck hunting. My wife and I went their house one time for a duck dinner. It was delicious. They ate quite a lot of duck, so they knew what they were doing.

I've had duck a few other times, too. It's really good when the skin is nice and crispy. Duck also had more fat than chicken or turkey, so it's rich and flavorful. Also, I prefer dark meat on chicken and turkey, and duck is more like that. I like it.

Yes! I had tried duck. What we did is clean it really good (we had living bought ducks) put in salted water for 2 hours (don't know why still) take it out, filled it with rice, garlic and some other spices. Sew the ends and put it a plastic bag that handles heat in the oven low temp for about 3 hours and we got a nice crispy skin, soft delicious duck mean and very delicious rice full with flavor.

Ew naa a could never eat a wee duck thats sick av never tried it i couldnt I've been told off a lot of people its delusious other things like chicken turkey i can eat av been brought up eating those but i never herd of duck food until i was 18 my uncle told me but no i couldnd eat a wee duck its not my thing i would feel bad

Yes, it's lovely. Try it with a cranberry jam, that's more European style. I honestly never had it from the chinese, might order it sometime. The only downside is it's not a lot of meat for the price.

Duck is the bomb. But I've never been able to cook it to get the crispy skin quite as well as gourmet Chinese restaurants. I've tried patting everything dry before the oven, baking powder, everything I know about. I can never get it as good as like a Michelin-star restaurant in Hong Kong.

Yup, I only ever make duck when it comes to poultry.
It's fatty and flavorful, way different from chicken or turkey.

I'm surprised to see people comment they've only had it once/never had it.
Duck is super common where I live, you can find it right next to chicken at any supermarket.
Over in these parts it's turkey that's way harder to get.

Yes, I have tried duck and I have prepared it in various ways. Duck à l'orange was a lot of work and I will not make it again. I have cured duck which was very nice. I have brined duck for roasting and I have made duck breasts in a pan. I think duck is delicious. I have an issue with foie gras though and I won't eat it.

I'd give it a try, this Asian restaurant was killing ducks at the Monongahela PA US Aquartorium illegally and they were caught but I believe they have new owners
working there now not too sure. But someone told me that the duck they served
was greasy so who knows

I love Duck but I have not been hunting for a while and what they have in supermarkets are not worth what they are asking, I know a couple of Game Butchers locally, I'll have to see what they have on the slab.

I prefer duck breasts over chicken or turkey. Duck breasts should be never fully done, 30min by 140-150C is enough. Duck legs need twice as long.  Duck fat is an excellent base for sweet-sour sauces.

Had it once at an office holiday party many many years ago. It was SO GOOD were all were asking what it was. We found out it was duck. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! 😋

Yes, I've had roast duck several times, and a couple tomes I've had Peking Duck at Chinese restaurants, including one in Hong Kong. Duck tastes like chicken, though it's greasier. It's good, but I'd rather have chicken or turkey.

I had duck for the first time recently at a Vietnamese restaurant and it was honestly so horrible 🤮 I just pushed it discreetly under some rice but the flavor was so gross, kind of like wet dog and kind of like really old turkey.
