What was your favorite prized possession as a child/teenager? Did you buy it with allowance money?

I had a paper route when I was 12. It didn't pay well at all. But I saved money to buy the fishing reel that I had wanted, and I bought it when I had the money saved up. I lived a mile from the ocean and I was fishing all the time at that age.

I had a small box filled with everything sentimental to me. Drawings from artist friends I admired, notes that were passed in class, small craft gifts made by friends, and even a GameBoy Advance copy of Pokemon Ruby.

I spent any money I could get my hands on entirely on music. Music basically got me through childhood, especially my early teenage years, so in my mind, that music was priceless.

As a child, probably toys I asked for and played a lot with: Lego blocks and an electrical train set. My parents have kept these, so I could hand them over to our daughter.

As a teenager, a set of LP records that I paid for myself. Many LPs will qualify. I was into bands like Fleetwood Mac, Talk Talk, Tears for Fears. I'd go out and buy these albums after much thought and would play them A to B side many times.

I can’t remember what I valued most as a kid/teenager specifically since it did change multiple times. The items I have kept from childhood that I value a lot are my ps2, Gameboy and a few books (one of which is a collectible and worth a lot of money now)

When I was 14 I bought a 1957 ranchers, it didn't run at the time, by the time I was 16 id taught myself to repair it and it purred.. I bought parts as needed by working.
