This is almost comical the way they have to dance around the term “profit sharing”, because the WNBA is not profitable! It has been subsidized by the NBA since inception! Are the players demanding to take responsibility for the league losses? Of course not! Are they trying to buy the teams? Of course not! They just want to be given MORE of what they don’t earn. They don’t actually want to invest in anything. Let the owners spend their money so the WNBA players can continue to reap the rewards of the NBA’s success. 🤣🤣🤣 I can’t think of another organization that could even pull this off. If you’re not making your employers money, you don’t have a job! You definitely don’t get to b*tch about a raise! I think the owners should just shutter the whole league. If the players want to keep playing, they can spend their own money to keep the league going. What are your thoughts?
Here is the issue. The wnba has lost money, it isn't and hasn't been profitable. Just the math alone would mean the investors would lose somewhere between 500 and 700 million per season I believe if they agreed to revenue sharing if reports are correct.
If the NBA didn't supplement the entire wnba, they couldn't afford to pay them even their current salary. With those numbers, business wise it makes more sense to shutter the entire league. If they keep pushing thst requirement, they may find themselves on the unemployment lines.
Everyone works and makes the same salary based upon profits... x players / y income. doesn't matter if you get points or do well or not. People pay whatever they'd like to contribute. Any money they make advertising via other channels for the wnba is included in profits. Work hard and be successful... others share in the success.
Maintaining of the bathrooms is done by volunteers or they can decide to pay someone.

I think they will in time play this year but with Less games and the offer won't be as good as first offer. They also get a car allowance and rent allowance , which makes pay close to $150,000 or more. They also get food allowance and a cell phone I think. Plus they have any deals they get with sponsors. So Some make $400,000 or more and they can also play in other leagues. They have it good. They will never get the viewers the NBA does. Arenas are smaller , ticket lower. The question is whether Caitlin is the player she was before injury?
They also don;t don't promote Caitlin like they should. Marketing is terrible at WNBA.
Expansion at this time is probably a bad Idea. However , it gives Indiana better chances of winning the Championship.

The WNBA is becoming profitable. It is reminiscent of Amazon's early days. Amazon didn't make a profit for a very long time but they eventually did. Did WNBA is trending accordingly as evidenced by the better TV deals and some increase in pay and because of newsworthy injuries from players who've had season ending injuries having to play in other leagues just to make up for the money. The WNBA will be fine in the long run. Same thing with women's hockey and same thing with women's soccer. The American public is becoming cognizant that women's sports are important too and that will watch women's sports. Within 2 generations, it will be almost alien to think women's sports weren't important.
There is no such thing as “becoming profitable”. Either you are profitable or you’re not. The WNBA has NEVER turned a profit. They have been subsidized by the NBA since inception. That’s nearly three decades. For how many generations should owners be forced to piss money away for raises in “revenue sharing” for players who aren’t also sharing in the expenses and losses? That’s the primary hurdle to an agreement that the players’ union will accept. I’m a union man, but if my contractor isn’t making money, they don’t owe me a job, let alone a raise. I think the players are entitled and greedy, and the owners should just bow out. If the players want it bad enough, they can buy the league and run it themselves. Then they’ll see how much money there is to throw around willy nilly.
Well, obviously there’s a difference between revenue and profit. They take in money through ticket sales, sponsorships, etc. But they’re not making a profit. They’re not even breaking even. The WNBA is subsidized by the NBA.
