Have 26 separate playlists, where each playlist has singers and groups that start with each letter of the alphabet. Then do the same for songs that start with each letter.
Totally at random, say to yourself "This is an M day, or whatever letter pops into your head" and play that playlist.
I hope B = Beach Boys.
@Massageman And Beatles, as well as several others.
There are some Beatles songs that I really do like. But, they also have many that I really dislike, whether musically or from a content basis. For my taste in music, the Beach Boys were much more consistently in my "like column". Formula harmonies? Sure, but a great formula!
How about: Trios only? There are groups from every genre, you'll maybe discover some new gems checking out who's who. Trios most always have great players in every spot... there's nowhere to hide. Here's one that has become obscure over time. Some of the instrumentation is a bit dated maybe, but that can happen over 50 years time. Ever hear of Emerson, Lake and Palmer?
Thanks

I would put certain emotions, ideas, activities as three reason for my playlist. Sometimes genre. But telling you mine kind defeats the purpose.

Lately I’ve been listening to outlaw country made by AI.
I think it’s good but I might be the only one lol
Check out (just google) Iron Saddle Rebels.
It’s different.
Interesting question!
What are some of the best and least liked themes you have? Do you add to them over time?
a list of songs... that G@G people recommended you... lol
Why not make a playlist with each of the first songs from the other lists?
wanna go 90s grunge? or maybe 80s synth pop?
synth pop is basically the sound that came to define 80s music. think of bands like tears for fears, aha, or in van halens 'Jump' where heavy use of a sythesizer was used. www.youtube.com/watch
