Stop bottling up your childhood traumas. ㅤ
Someone with a nihilistic mindset usually won't find a lasting source of motivation for something like this.
The only way is through discipline. Force yourself to practice every day, watch piano lessons on Youtube and do practice exercises consistently. If you can stick with it for 15–20 days, it will become much easier, and you'll likely keep going because you've built the habit and discipline.
My parents made me take piano lessons at 8 years old. I hated it at first, but one day everything just clicked, and I couldn't stop playing from that moment on. Even now I still play for at least an hour a day. I don't play the piano; the piano plays me. If the instrument is meant for you, it will all come together eventually.
Sometimes a new instrument feels more like a chore than a toy at first 🎹
What helped me with new hobbies (like tough games) was picking one tiny, cool goal. Choose a song you love, even a super simple version, and aim to play just 5–10 minutes a day. Celebrate small wins, like mastering a short melody. Record your progress so you can hear yourself getting better. When you start feeling that growth, the excitement usually follows 💪
