The carnival brings lots of attractions when it rolls into town; food that takes years off of your life, rides that thrill or just beat you up, and games designed to make you pay the price of an oversized stuffy for a keychain sized trinket. Ell oh ell!
But we go anyway because it’s usually only once a year and if you’re not overly critical, it can be fun!

My favorite food is the “elephant ear”, fried dough sweetened with cinnamon and sugar or pie filling. It’s not terribly unlike “funnel cake” if you know that heart stopper.
My favorite ride is commonly called the “Gravitron” in the midwest. It’s a spinning ride that subjects riders to centripetal forces and extreme inertia. If you’re brave, fit and strong, you can do some really fun things on that ride. Like stand on the wall, perpendicular to the floor and ceiling!
My favorite game is the “Dozer” game where you drop quarters or tokens into the game and the back wall of the game pushes everything toward you and an edge where everything that falls down becomes your prize. I was pretty good at it and won a lot of change and trinkets until the first time the carney walked over to my game and pulled all the goodies back from the edge. I would still play from time to time until they switched from quarters to tokens. With quarters, you could get your money back and more. You had to buy the tokens and they didn’t buy them back. So all you really got was the trinkets and tokens that weren’t good for much else. That’s when i gave up my carnival gaming. 🥺😢😭

I always loved the atmosphere! My ride was the Zipper. A friend and I used to, as teenagers, see how many revolutions we could get out of it. Usually about 50 or 60 average.
The corndogs and candied and Carmel apples were always good.
And the girls back then would all be in shorts and either tubetops or halter tops. Yum!
I would probably go with the Ferris wheel Nothing beats the view from the top 🎡😂
Carnivals don’t have roller coasters the Dade County youth fair has it in Miami but the Major theme parks parks has it mostly
I hate moving carnivals. I don't want the food or games, and the rides aren't necessarily safe.
