Has anyone ever gotten bored with their pet?

I remember on TV one time this kid said, "It's not like a toy, where if you get bored with it, you just give it away."

But I beg to differ, that it's impossible to not get bored with a pet. Humanity is very diverse. Such people exist.

I think it’s possible to get tired of the routine of having a pet, especially when they’re young and require a lot of attention. But I don’t think that’s the same as being bored with the animal itself.

Pets become part of your life. They have personalities, habits, and little things they do that you get attached to. I’ve definitely had moments where I wanted a break from the responsibility, but I couldn’t imagine just giving my pet away because I got bored.

That kid actually had a pretty good point. A pet isn’t a toy you replace when the excitement wears off.
