I was reading an article on Yahoo news today (yeah I know that was my first mistake) that was originally from the Huffington Post. The writer said the reason the Republicans are so upset about Biden's student loan forgiveness plan is... White Supremacy. Yeah, the fact that people have worked their butts off to fulfill the obligations THEY incurred apparently did not factor in. Instead, the GOP wants the loans to remain a yoke around the neck of PoC, who apparently are the only ones who take out student loans.

That kind of thing drives me crazy. White supremacy is not the reason that laborers don't want to fund the educations of a bunch of white people who should be earning more than them. You'd have to be a profoundly dishonest person to write something like that.

I think my least favorite part of the performative outrage is that it cheapens the struggles of people who actually need the help.
