SHOULD you spend New Years Eve with your family or girlfriend/boyfriend?

It's the day before New Years Eve... and my mother is driving me crazy... and I really would love to spend more time with my boyfriend... What should I do? I feel like New Years is for family... and I should try to spend more time with my family... Family meaning my mother for me since I'm an only child and she's a single parent...
Should I stay home with my mother? Or do you think it would be okay if I went and spent New Years Eve with my boyfriend?

I would try to spend NYE with my family and friends, my parents are really protective as well. But I have become more protective of myself due to all relationships I have been through in the past. I know that you are an adult so your mom should accept any decisions about your life, as long as someone knows where you guys are going for NYE party. That way your mom and/or friends know where you are going.

That and New Years always seemed more like a let's party holiday. So your SO would be more fit anyway now that I think about it. I'd probably preplan Christmas with the family and New Year's with my partner.

Depends on how long you've known your boyfriend/girlfriend and how close you actually are with your family. If it was me, I would prefer to spend it with my mom. Not saying my boyfriend isn't important, but my mom kind of comes first.
