Does Halloween kick off the holiday season for you?

Yeah, pretty much, as far as there being a string of bigger ones for the next 2 months but, if you mean, does it start the Christmas season for me, HELL NO! And I'm SICK & TIRED of having Christmas being shoved down my throat from mid Oct. to Christmas day at the stroke of midnight!!! Other than an occasional conversational mention of Christmas, I don't want anything to do with it until at least the end of the first week of Dec.!! I don't put up a tree or decorate the house until the end of the second week and I'll PROBABLY start taking them all down by mid Jan.! The way it SHOULD be!!

I feel you. Especially when people forget Thanksgiving. The holidays to me. Isn’t just Christmas.

To me it’s Halloween through New Years. But I like enjoying all holidays

I mean. Yeah Christmas is a wonderful time. Yeah. It’s good to enjoy it. But it’s earlier and earlier.

It’s before Thanksgiving. Then it’s before Halloween. Then it’s July! Why not just be Christmas all year?

When I was a kid, NOBODY played Christmas music until at LEAST the first week of Dec.! During that week, you got a very light smattering of it. 2nd week, you got about twice as much, 3rd week, almost all Christmas music. Week of, up until New Years, constant Christmas music! First week of Jan. about 1/3 of it was Christmas music, 2nd week, maybe half, 3rd week, almost none. THAT'S how it SHOULD be done!!
These days, it's 24/7 Christmas music from the stroke of midnight Halloween night until the stroke of midnight Christmas night when it STOPS DEAD!!! First, they SHOVE IT DOWN YOUR THROAT for 2 solid months so your sick to death of it and then, when you WANT to enjoy it and get into the spirit, they stop it DEAD!! The day after Christmas, people are already throwing out their trees, mostly because they put them up on Halloween!!
We'd put the tree up at least a week before Christmas and keep it up until at least 2 weeks into Jan.! During that time, we'd go to the houses of various family and friends and look at their trees and the kids would show off their toys to their friends and cousins. They'd also come over to visit us. Now, SOME people keep their tree up a few days past Christmas but not many!!
Sorry but, it REALLY chaps my ass how plastic, cheap, phony and disposable Christmas has become!!

Yeah. I like to decorate and play Christmas music after Thanksgiving. Not Halloween. Not before Halloween. Not in July. Not all year round

Notice how they've already got GAG dressed up for Christmas as of 3 or 4 days ago? Why was there no Halloween dress-up until the same day? Why not get that going in Aug?

No, I've never seen that! Must be like a few years ago when I was seeing people wearing heavy parkas in 90 degree weather!! I'm sweating my tits off in shorts and a t-shirt and they;'re wearing parkas?

I have a few times. It looks silly. But whatever it’s their decorations. Not mine so.

Sometimes that’s a clue someone’s bad news if they wear warm clothes in hot weather.

i know! I was on a bus going to work one hot afternoon when this bunch of people sat near me all wearing buttoned up down-filled coats! The little girl sitting next to me sneezed and the next day, I got a cold!! i was SO looking forward to g9oing to see Bobby Slayton the next day but I wasn't about to go anywhere with a cold!! I had to wait at least a year for him to come back!!

People on public buses can be some interesting characters sometimes

I've seen quite a few!! One time, I was on a bus and suddenly noticed this guy sitting a few seats away from me, staring at me with his hands in his shorts playing with himself!!

as a kid I would say yes, now , no. It is one day that is 24 until Thanksgiving day.

But Halloween , then Election day (Democrats (devils) get thrown out of office, then Thanksgiving , then my Birthday, then Christmas, then New Years
