Lol. I remember. This is random but. I remember some of my drivers were really awesome and gave out candy. Sometimes even full candy bars and soda and stuff.

Then I had some who looked kind of like convicted felons and I don’t know if I would have trusted them with candy anyways I’d they have it LOL

MOST of my drivers liked me. Even some of the meaner ones. Except one lady. Who just had it out for me.

She let pretty much the kids she liked could get away with murder. But she would yell at the ones she diddnt like and write them up.

I had another lady who was really nice. But she was a bit… crazy. I liked her though. She was funny

all of mine had one thing bad about them: They either liked really bad country music, really bad dad rock, or only played the Christmas radio station

That was most of mine too. But I like that kind of music. lol. So it was fine with me. The lady who I said would cuss. She would sometimes crank county up or rock up when people were too loud 😂.

Everyone hated her so bad. Except me. It was never a boring day on the bus. But she didn’t drive long. I just had subs that year and she was one of them. So she would sometimes drive and sometimes it would be other random subs.

It was annoying. Because they would always get lost.

The most annoying thing was when everyone would scream. The good thing is. I did not live in a rural area. So I could just get off at the next stop or the driver would turn around

Yeah. There was another time where they called school off last minute. They had to turn the buses around. But luckily I didn’t ride the bus that early.

Yeah we almost slid into a tree and my dad had to get us off the bus in his truck

I heard that. Someone came and put salt under the tires and finally got the bus unstuck. Because it went by like 30 minutes later.

Some kids got off and walked and some had their parents or someone get them

The Midwest. Most of the time they are pretty good about calling school. But sometimes when there was too many false alarms. They would let their guard done and say. We should have school…

That day where we almost slid into a tree. There was SO many buses that crashes. Slid into the ditch. Some kids didn’t get home until like evening. Like 5 or 6.

You could hear the radio that the driver has nonstop with buses wrecking out. It was crazy. And my driver couldn’t hardly talk on the radio because there was so many drivers wrecked or stuck

smh sounds about right. my mom spent the first few years of her life in the midwest and she said they would trudge to school in their little snowsuits like little penguins ❤️ sounds so cute

Yeah. I think there was some schools that had school come hell or high water and others that closed over a flurry.

Most of the time. They knew when road conditions would get bad and would either cancel school or do late start or early release. Now they just do AMI. Glad I’m out of school now.

I will be telling my kids “back in my day when it snowed or iced we didn’t have to do any school”

Yeah. In areas where it don’t snow much it don’t take much to cancel. In areas where it snows all the time they hardly cancel.

There was a few times though. That it was so nice. I would just wake up late. Like oh shit I have school today like and I get up and my dad would say “look outside” and there would just be snow.

We had so many snow days or days out of school we could miss before they would make us make up a day. But after we crossed that. Makeup days sucked.

At least my school never used Saturday’s. One of my teachers said they can do that. But they probably wouldn’t because it would cause too many problems
