Any ideas for a Christmas gift?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 8 months, so this will be our first Christmas together. I don't want to go too overboard on a gift but I also don't want to go too cheap either. Any ideas? We are in a long-distance relationship (which we are hoping the distance will not be a factor anymore come early spring as he is moving closer to me) and are both in our 40s. I will need something that will travel well (whether with me flying to him, or him flying home). Any ideas?

Well, it's not the kind of thing you'd do by itself, but as PART of what you give (and if you still have enough time), you could take a favored book and make a recording of it for him; transporting it wouldn't be an issue, it's a very personal thing, and it lets him hear your voice when he's feeling lonely and you're unavailable.

Ask him what he wants. Bur anything would be kids. Maybe a watch or something.

we already know we can't have them naturally - so we've decided to just love on our nieces and nephews and any other children that may be in our lives already (friends' kids, that sort of thing) and enjoy each other. :) I have asked him, but he says he doesn't know yet. :)

Blue tooth speakers are 40.00. Of course first Christmas ornament. What about a small tool fix it kit like30.00 and great for a kitchen drawer kind of thing.
