What are you grateful/thankful for?

Here in the United States, it's the eve of Thanksgiving. In our family, at the table during Thanksgiving dinner, we go around and everyone says what they're thankful for. (It can get dicey sometimes with the kids, but it's also usually pretty awesome how insightful they are.)

I'm thankful for my wife, children, and friends. As well as coffee, Moscato, the cat, and Legos.

Thank you to everyone who answered! I would have selected MHO for all of them. I picked the two I did for their brutal, heartfelt honesty and, well, peanut butter. :)

hmmm l want to try making a list for this question. I like it since I think there's usually a lot that gets taken for granted.

I'm thankful for having food on the table, for my family (even if they're annoying sometimes), for my dog and cat (s). I get to wake up in the morning, check this site and have internet, I get to exercise many freedoms just because. I've met many interesting people and seen many fun places, I'm grateful I've gotten to live this much.

I am especially grateful for peanut butter, that is one of man's greatest inventions and no, I will not change my mind on that. 🤣

I echo your thoughts on peanut butter, although I'm not sure where it falls in the grand scheme of "greatest". Like, not sure it cracks my top 10 but definitely the top 20. Interesting story: we lived in Germany from 1980-1984. Could not find what I called "American" peanut butter (Skippy, Jif, etc.) I only got to eat that during the summers... it was rough!

That's a shame, Peanut butter is too good. top 20 is good enough, I would settle for that. I'm guessing they didn't have that kind at the time then.

Actually, that's the thing: they had it (I was a Skippy kid) but we couldn't get it in Germany... at least where we lived. Can you imagine being 6, 7, 8, etc. and mom saying, "sorry, no peanut butter"? It sucked!!! Every June, after our plane landed, I made dad stop at the store for Wonder Bread and Skippy or Peter Pan peanut butter. Oh the memories.

haha, my parents would sometimes just tell me we will buy it later whenever I asked for something from the store. It's weird knowing that there wasn't any in your area then. Wonder bread and Peter pan butter sounds magical ♥️

I'm thankful to have everyone home for Thanksgiving and sitting around the table together. My kids, my husband, a warm home, food on the table, good health, and kids doing well in school. I'm so thankful my kids are in college and enjoying their time there. Yep, life is good!

Sounds wonderful! I know what you mean: my oldest is in college and spending Thanksgiving at his girlfriend's family's house; next oldest is 17 but also spending Thanksgiving with his girlfriend and her family. Mom is taking it hard.

I have an ancestor who was present at the Pilgrim's first Thanksgiving. I have 11 ancesor who fought in the Revolutionary War. I have ancestors who fought in the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. I am grateful for all my ancestors who bravely colonizedd our land, fought to keep us free, and to preserve freedom for others.

Much appreciated. When I enlisted, they tried to get me to go CS (called MS back then). I told them I earned more working at McDonald's (true). The recruiter wasn't very happy with me for that -- he got laughed at by all the Army guys.

I had fun and don't regret a day of it.
