Do y’all do stockings?

As the youngest of five I never knew any different but my gram did a lot of knitting and made all of her grandchildren stockings.

I think that might have ended though around when I was born though because I don’t think any of my younger cousins got one. I was #8 in the count of 15…

anyways my dad then would go all out each year to fill those stockings and let me tell guy. It was nuts some of the things we got. The stockings were my favorite part for a long time.

The fancy home made stocking eventually got lost or ruined and we bought new factory made stockings. They don’t hold as much but they are still pretty fun.

Do any of you do stockings in you Christmas Day gift giving?

Yes! I still wrap the stocking gifts in Santa paper even though my youngest is almost 18. ❤ It seems to be their favorite too.

Yes. Tradition to hang stocking on bedposts in generations of my family. Then they would be opened by excited children in parents bed. Followed by going down to the light fireplace and make hot drinks to open presents early Christmas morning.

Oh wow!! That is a different level though!! Lol! I was expecting you to say that they could open the presents in their beds while mom and dad slept. Lol! But cool! You do a whole early morning thing? Presents was always kind of the end of the day thing in my house.

When I was young my mum wouldn’t even put up decorations until after bed Christmas eve. So when you woke up it was a huge deal just to see the stocking first. Then a tree and everything as we came downstairs.
That was so much work for them.
I never did that with the tree with my family, we put things up early Dec, but have kept to keeping Christmas morning as our big time stocking and presents. 🎄🎁🎁

Yours is nice too. I have friends who use Christmas eve for presents with their kids too.

We had one time that we did one present and the stocking Christmas Eve but every other year it was a whole day of thing.

It was! We did stockings and then throughout the day we opened a present each of us so that we could watch movies and Play games throughout the day. And then Christmas Day was almost all opening presents. We would go one at a time and all watch each other open. Then and then ooow and aww at each persons gift.
